This position will be 4 days onsite and 1 day remote in our Richmond, VA office. 

Role Overview 

CoStar Group’s Talent Acquisition team is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Analyst to join our team. As an integral member of our team, you will be responsible for creating the overarching data and reporting strategy to support the management and optimization of the recruiting function and assist in improving the operations and decision-making of our business. An ideal candidate will possess strong problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities in addition to strong mathematical, analytical, and data modeling skills. The ability to manipulate large, complex data sets into manageable, understandable reports. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team-working skills. You should be flexible and able to work independently or in a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building the future of the analytical infrastructure necessary to drive some of the most critical decisions in both the operations and the business 
  • Leverage a data first approach to identify critical business trends to deliver both insights and specific actionable recommendations to the business 
  • Partner with recruiting operations and leadership team to deliver analysis 
  • Build and maintain critical dashboards, reports and presentations that enable key leaders to understand, interpret and make decisions in a data first way 
  • Testing processes, policies, and protocols for efficiency and improvements. 

Basic Requirements: 

  • A bachelor's degree in data analytics, finance, statistics, computer science, or related field required from an accredited, not for-profit college or university 
  • 8+ years of experience with professional data analysis 
  • 2+ years leading and developing with open-source data technologies 
  • Track record of commitment to previous employers 
  • Experience utilizing Power BI and SQL 
  • Familiarity with data modeling software and Excel software

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in a Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field  
  • Significant experience in statistical or econometrics hands-on work  
  • Experience manipulating and performing analysis with large data sets  
  • Experience in developing statistical or econometric models  
  • Experience in validating statistical or econometric models  
  • Experience with data governance  
  • Experience with predictive analytics
