Job Description

As the Sustaining Design Engineering Manager within Mechatronics Engineering, you will be responsible for managing the day to day mechatronics engineering function related to existing product platforms. This position requires leading and developing an engineering team to maintain and enhance our product portfolio.

Key responsibilities include VA/VE to meet cost targets, technical lead for product quality issues and support to the manufacturing team to optimize the product design for manufacturability.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for planning, allocation of resources and coordination of tasks for sustaining design engineering.
  • Own and maintain the VAVE and quality projects roadmap for product platforms.
  • Mentor and train engineers in the product design process.
  • Provide daily support to issues encountered in the manufacturing environment.
  • Provide support and resolution to quality issues found in the field.
  • Create and deliver a regular cadence of project status updates.
  • Engineering analysis and design using analytical tools such as performance simulation, FEA and CFD.
  • Travel both domestic and international required to key suppliers and customers as needed.

Background & Skills

Required (basic) qualifications

  • Min Years of experience: 7
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.

Preferred qualifications

  • Advanced degree such as MS or MBA
  • Experience in HVAC product design
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 processes for product development.
  • Possess strong design for manufacturing and assembly thinking ability.

Job Criteria

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good people management and people development skills.
  • Knowledge of CAD, FEA and computer simulation analysis.
  • Ability to both think strategically in concepts and execute with attention to detail.
  • Results oriented individual with emphasis on overall team performance.
  • Energy and desire to drive continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Role requires to be onsite in the office daily
