Wight is currently looking for Summer Interns to work in our interior design group. Wight Interns have opportunities to work with our design team on projects, competitions and/or project pursuits and to also collaborate with Wight’s engineers and construction managers.

Wight has one of the most robust Summer Intern Programs in the industry! Interns have numerous opportunities to network with both design professional and interns from all the various departments at Wight. The relationships forged during this time can last the duration of a career!

Responsibilities:

  • Perform specific/limited portions of Interior Designer assignments under direct supervision.
  • Document changes to Interior drawings as instructed.
  • Consult with manufacturers, research and evaluate materials.
  • Assist in Construction Administration including preparing sketches and addendums, and visiting the construction site to gather information and/or preparing a punch list.
  • Contribute proactively to the project team.
  • Receive and follow directions for project assignments.
  • Manage own time based on directions given.
  • As part of the Internship, one will experience educational sessions and mentorship opportunities that include lunch-and-learns, lectures, project tours and vendor presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Interior Design with a minimum of 2 years of education and an emphasis in Interior Design / Interior Architecture completed.
  • Proficient in Revit, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office products.
  • 3-D computer rendering skills (Enscape, Sketch Up, 3-D Max, and/or other modeling software)
  • Must be detailed oriented and able to work in a team environment
  • Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
