Job Description

Role Purpose: 

The HR advisor sits withing the HR team and is the first point of contact for employees and line managers regarding employee matters. This person will support the wider HR team to achieve the key HR targets and achievements for the business.

Interfaces: 

Key internal and external stakeholders that the role interacts with: 

Internal - All employees, line managers and EF teams. 

External - Parent company HR teams. 

Accountabilities: 

  • We are looking for an experience HR advisor to work on a fixed term contract at Connect Plus Services. This role will see you supporting and advising line managers on best practices for general HR queries in relation to supporting employees achieve their full potential and supporting managers in any formal required processes. 
  • This role will see you working alongside the wider HR team and have the opportunity to contribute to the HR strategic 2022 plan. You will proactively work as an effective team member and build relationships with line managers across CPS. 

Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Act as the point of contact for hiring managers, employees, and other HR team members. 
  • Provide HR advice to line managers and employees on day-to-day issues applying expertise and judgement. 
  • Ensure the management of end-to-end processes are observed by line managers whilst maintaining legal and compliance requirements. 
  • Work closely with the business to deliver HR solutions that support business performance and objectives. This may include people priorities, onboarding, retention activity and performance management. 
  • Supporting the managers with various capability investigations, disciplinaries and grievances, ensuring best practice is maintained in a professional manner. 
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders when required to ensure all cases are managed effectively and efficiently. 
  • Focus on continual improvement, running training and upskilling sessions for line managers. 
  • Keep abreast of all employee relations legislative changes to ensure that knowledge is kept up to date to maintain consistency of approach. 
  • Monitor, review, and update HR policies and ensure these are in line with current legislation. 
  • Drive business performance in relation to the organisation’s objectives. 

Experience: 

  • Experience of supporting employees and line managers through a broad range of employee relations matters. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in sensitive matters and display excellent judgement and initiative when required. 
  • Robust knowledge of employment legislation, particularly relating to employee relations. 
  • Experience of managing complex employee cases. 
  • Ability to respond to competing priorities and manage a diverse workload. 
  • Effective planning and organisation skills. 
  • Experience of running effective upskilling training sessions for managers. 
  • Proven experience in influencing and coaching managers on Employee Relations matters.
