A Snapshot of Your Day

The Lead Engineer Erection takes ownership for the professional management of all relevant planning and execution works related to the erection of electrolysis plants and is responsible for all erection topics during the preparation of competitive proposals and the execution of projects all over the world. Throughout the execution phase of a project the Lead Engineer Erection coordinates the interfaces to EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) partners, ensures that relevant Siemens Energy processes, workflows, and guidelines are followed and regularly reports the progress of the works to the management.

How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Specification of civil works and supervision of erection works for the Siemens Energy scope of supply.
  • Management of construction contractors and interfaces with EPC partners.
  • Coordination of construction works and managing interfaces to EPC partners and subcontractors as member of the project execution team.
  • Support of proposal preparations to develop competitive and high-quality customer-oriented bids for hydrogen generation plants.
  • Provision of project specific erection and installation costs during the bidding phase comprising negotiations with customers, EPC partners, and subcontractors.
  • Qualification and selection of contractors for mechanical and electrical supply and installation works in coordination with the procurement department.
  • Progress reporting on erection and construction works in management meetings.
  • Definition and implementation of escalation measures in consultation with the project manager.
  • Adherence to and updating of the construction site schedule as well as determination of the required construction site personnel.
  • Responsibility for compliance with all safety requirements as well as promotion of the ZeroHarm@SE culture.
  • Risk management including development of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Initiation of lessons learned initiatives and implementation of improvement measures as part of the continuous improvement process.

What You Bring

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or similar engineering disciplines.
  • Several years of professional experience in planning and execution of erection and installation works in plant engineering, ideally abroad.
  • Wide experience in project execution as a part of the project/site team.
  • Experience in contract and claim management.
  • Preferably experience in leading project execution teams or teams in comparable plant engineering and construction disciplines.
  • Experience in proposal preparation is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel intercontinentally on site assignments.
  • Business fluent in English and German.
  • Great passion for the field of energy transition and decarbonization.
