Position Summary

We are seeking a talented and innovative Software Engineer to join our project delivery development team. The Software Engineer will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex C5ISR systems and infrastructure solutions, spanning Information Operations (IO), meteorological systems, and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of the organization. This position requires strong programming skills, a deep understanding of software engineering principles, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Work you’ll do/Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze software requirements and propose technical solutions
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications and systems using appropriate programming languages and frameworks
  • Debug and troubleshoot software defects and performance issues and provide timely resolutions
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation (i.e., design specifications, user manuals, release notes)
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and propose their adoption in software development processes
  • Collaborate with quality assurance (QA) engineers to ensure software quality through unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing processes
  • Collaborate with product owners, designers, and stakeholders to understand user needs and translate them into software requirements

Our Core Technology Operations (CTO) team offers differentiated operate services for our clients with solutions to help organizations scale and optimize critical business operations, drive speed to outcome, deliver business transformation, and build resilience in an uncertain future.

Our operate services within CTO include:

  • Foundry Services: Operate services providing flexible, recurring resource capacity for client initiatives, projects, tasks, and enhancement
  • Managed Services: Operate services that provide ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and optimization for IT/Engineering applications & products

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorshp now or at any time in the future
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, or other technical field 
  • 2+ years of experience with software engineering within a government program office
  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience with software development frameworks and tools (e.g., Spring, Django, Angular, React)
  • Experience with Windows 2012 & 2019, Windows 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and Java
  • Knowledge of database systems and SQL queries (e.g. MS SQL server, PostgreSQL)
  • Active Top Secret Clearance and SCI eligibility

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in applied science, computing, engineering, mathematics, physics, management information systems
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) is a plus
  • Familiarity with agile software development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and related tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
  • Active TS/SCI Government Clearance

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, Jersey City, Nevada, New York City, and Washington State, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $77,000 to $127,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
