Environmental & Sustainability Specialist - Offshore Wind

Now we're seeking an Environmental & Sustainability Specialist to drive our offshore wind projects forward, ensuring the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead/support bids and projects for Environmental Social Impact Assessments (ESIA)
  • Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)
  • Environmental permits
  • Prepare scope of works for external ESIA consultants
  • Develop ESIA strategies
  • Identify and follow up dialogue with relevant stakeholders
  • Assist procurement, provide lists of tenderers to invite, complete technical evaluations of proposals
  • Ensure alignment to international best practice ESIA
  • Early Environmental site assessment
  • Environmental Due Dilligence (DD)
  • Lead/support bids and projects on sustainability
  • Develop Sustainability strategy aligned to Mainstream’s policy
  • Develop relevant sustainability initiatives
  • Stakeholder engagement support
  • Participate in and follow-up Joint Industry Projects (JIP)
  • Provide input to policy/regulatory works related to ESIA and sustainability
  • Follow up on company internal Global Development Standards for ESIA and Sustainability
  • Represent MRP at venues/fora within the ESIA and Sustainability

Qualifications and Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Law or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Environmental Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and sustainability within offshore wind or renewable energy industry.
  • Proven track record in managing ESIA processes, including Environmental Impact Statements, permits, stakeholder engagement, and strategy development.
  • Familiarity with international best practices and standards related to ESIA and sustainability as well as regulations in the renewable energy sector is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide input into policy/regulatory works
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
