Fox Broadcasting Company has flagged the Special Projects Photographer job as unavailable. Let’s keep looking.

Storyteller Wanted!

WESH 2 News has a rare opening for a Photographer/Producer within our award-winning Special Projects Unit. This newly added position will work side-by-side with our current Special Projects photographer/editor, creating content with our anchors and report to the Executive Producer of Special Projects.

The WESH 2 Special Projects Unit specializes in long-form, investigative as well as franchise content. The top candidate for this position enjoys editing a few 8-minute packages at once as part of an hour-long special and has no problem creatively gathering the b-roll for it...or creating graphics for the places b-roll doesn't suffice. You sweat the details when shooting interviews, with an eye for lighting, locations, and backgrounds. And you can manage multiple projects, and their content, at the same time.

This position is for a journalist who wants to be an equal partner in the storytelling process, helping direct the newsgathering efforts with talent, producer, or on your own. You're willing and able to work the hours the shoot requires, be it overnight, a weekend, or first thing in the morning. We work when and where the story takes us. While you won't shoot day-of news (barring a hurricane, elections, or something massive), you are a journalist who will contribute to the Special Projects editorial process, pitching ideas and tracking down leads for the Unit. We value innovation and want a team player who also wants to push boundaries with the creative freedom we allow here.

The ideal candidate has a resume reel that shows off Special Projects proficiencies with a minimum 5 years shooting and high-end editing experience with Adobe Premiere and After Effects. Drone pilot experience/licensing is a bonus!
