Our Marketing & Business Development (M&BD) Department supports the firm on a wide range of business development, marketing, and client relationship management activities. We work collaboratively across these activities through dedicated M&BD teams aligned to Practice Groups, Clients and Industries, Regions, Corporate Communications (includes Public Relations, Brand, Design, Events, and Digital, and Pitches and Pursuits.

We are recruiting for an enthusiastic, organized, collaborative, and capable marketing and business development coordinator to support our Communications, Internet & Media and Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice Groups. This position will be based in Washington, D.C., and will have a specific focus in helping to implement and drive forward projects designed to raise the profile and grow both practices. This role is an important part of our broader well-organized, supportive, creative, international team of M&BD professionals supporting the firm’s Global Regulatory and IPMT Practice Group.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Business Development

  • Primary responsibility for the organizing, editing, and formatting of pitches and proposals in coordination with lawyers and other marketing and BD colleagues to respond to pitch opportunities and RFPs in a coordinated, strategic, and timely way.
  • Support lawyers in executing their client development programs including relationship nurturing (events, thought leadership mailings, social media postings, etc.).
  • Working with partners to raise their, and the firm’s profile, to generate cross-selling and business opportunities through award submissions, multi-media projects, internal promotion, and external PR/social media.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, measurement and reporting of strategic BD programs.

Research

  • Read industry, legal, and business publications to remain aware of trends that may impact the practice and to identify promotional opportunities.
  • Conduct market research using firm resources on relevant issues and produce client target business summaries.

Marketing

  • Assist in the creation and regular update of marketing collateral, including Web content, brochures, practice group descriptions and credentials, and matter descriptions.
  • Manage end-to-end podcast production processes for the Privacy & Cybersecurity series, The Data Chronicles, ensuring seamless coordination and execution.
  • Support submissions to major award programs as needed by working with partners to draft descriptions that feature key legal matters and identification of client references in adherence to fixed deadlines.
  • Support the directory submission process.
  • Contribute to building and organize quality data resources that enable more efficient marketing by regularly inputting relevant data (matters, pitches, contact lists) to firm systems. 
  • Contribute to integrated campaigns to help raise profile and awareness with existing and potential clients.
  • Support logistical execution and programmatic planning for events that strategically support business development objectives.
  • Develop digital content promoting thought leadership, programs, attorney recognitions, and more.
  • Help to leverage content on social media (Clearview Social).
  • Help manage ad hoc requests for practice-specific materials and information from additional firm stakeholders, including fellow M&BD teams and lawyers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three (3)+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a legal, similar professional services industry.
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects.
  • Strong client service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to think critically and demonstrate a can-do attitude with a high level of initiative and an openness to feedback.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Experience working independently in a collaborative, professional environment.
  • Strong writing skills and an exacting attention to detail in all work product.
  • Enjoys and/or is enthusiastic about working on an international team with colleagues from around the world.
  • Enthusiasm and dedication to the development of a professional services marketing career.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in InDesign, iPublish, and InterAction or other CRM systems is desirable.

HOURS

Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including lunch hour, with flexibility to work overtime as needed.
