The Network Engineer will lead EAW’s efforts in the design, development, and management of EAW’s networks and related equipment. In this role, the Network Engineer is expected to have extensive working knowledge of all aspects of networks and security and will coordinate EAW’s growth and continued maintenance of its infrastructure. This will be a contractor-to-hire position.

Essential Functions

  • Design and develop premise-based and cloud-based networks to support EAW’s business.
  • Lead EAW’s network design and security practice.
  • Build and support an extensive VPN infrastructure, including Microsoft Always On VPN, Site-to-Site VPN, and Cisco AnyConnect VPN, to support EAW sites and work-at-home environments.
  • Support and modernize EAW’s premise-based networks, ensuring resiliency and failover.
  • Modernize and rationalize EAW’s existing network suppliers and vendors.
  • Manage all EAW telecom vendors and work to get best-in-class technology partners.

Required Skills

  • Excellent working knowledge of network engineering, packet routing, communications protocols, and network security principles.
  • Experience with Cisco equipment, including switches, firewalls, and Wireless LAN Controllers, with additional Cisco certifications preferred.
  • Experience with EIGRP, BGP routing protocols.
  • Experience with Windows Servers, Microsoft Office, Visio, and Project.
  • Experience with Microsoft Always On VPN, Site-to-Site VPN, and Cisco AnyConnect VPN.
  • Experience with Azure cloud-based and premise-based network equipment and services.
  • Experience with Microsoft Network Policy Server (RADIUS).
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and rack networking and server equipment.
  • Excellent documentation and analytical skills, using Microsoft Office and SharePoint tools.
  • Experience implementing security standards in a rapidly changing work environment.
  • Strong technical project management skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar discipline.

Working Conditions

  • General office conditions.
  • Work hours will include evening hours on occasion.
