About the Opportunity

Prep and Production

  • Set up production accounting and payroll software and ensure consistency across all productions at the start of the production
  • Ensure all eligible development costs are included in production budgets, repaid promptly by production when required; trigger and related party invoicing and billbacks
  • Create and/or manage creation of accurate production cashflows, by currency if required
  • Ensure accounting processes are in place and adhered to
  • Oversee production accountants workflow
  • Work with producers and production executives on timely and accurate cost reporting
  • Ensure productions are on-side any territorial regulations
  • Post Production Accounting
  • Prepare tax credit calculations and other schedules for tax credit audits and tax return filing
  • Work with external auditors to ensure all eligible costs are captured in filings
  • Manage any CRA and funder audits and assist the team with maintaining documentary support (residency paperwork, vendor invoices, and general ledger excerpts) for domestic, international and service productions

About You

  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian film & tv industry
  • Familiarity with all life stages of Canadian TV production (development, production, wrap, audit, recoupment)
  • Minimum of 5 years of production accounting experience
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, juggle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and deal with confidential information
  • Ability to work productively both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills with both internal and external groups
  • Proficiency in production accounting software (EPOL, Smart Accounting, etc.) as well as standard business software (Outlook, Excel)

Salary Range

$100,000 - $150,000/year
