Responsibilities

  • To support the on-going & expansion of “Weatherford’s” Completions activities. Within operations for clients there is a requirement for a completions field engineer to assist in the preparation of equipment onshore and installation at the worksite.
  • The primary business currently is Annulus Safety Valves (ASV), although there is a growing demand for gravel pack operations for a local client. All these operations require a significant amount of preparation onshore such as inspection, testing, completion of documentation, preparing for load-out and post operation backload inspection and reporting.
  • The workload will be a mixture of onshore and offshore, the engineer will be expected to be flexible. Currently ASV’s are prepared by the workshop ASV technician, due to the volume of work the field engineer will assist in workshop activities when there are no ongoing rigsite operations.
  • As and when new equipment is introduced the field engineer will assist to carryout successful deployment. The field engineer should be prepared to assist with the installation of equipment such as packers, safety valves, intervention plugs, straddles, wellscreens and gravel pack operations. 
  • The opportunity will exist for cross training in other completion product lines and liner equipment.

The main responsibilities of Completions Field Engineer:

  • Preparation of Completion Equipment.
  • Installation of Completion Equipment.
  • Gravel Pack Operations.
  • Develop job specific procedures and carry out required calculations.
  • Attend client’s pre & post job meetings.
  • Offshore and onshore mentoring.
  • Check equipment onshore and at rig site prior to installation.
  • Assist in workshop with equipment maintenance and testing.
  • Assist in workshop with equipment load-outs.
  • Daily report to town.
  • Assist with preparation of End of Well Report (EOWR).
  • Update installation databases, WPTS and other tracking systems.
  • Required training is undertaken to a satisfactory level of achievement.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and attitude and ensure that - Passport; Medical Certificate; Immunizations; Offshore Survival Certification and any other necessary certification/course’s are kept up to date.

Qualifications

  • Min 3 years Completions experience, Gravel Pack experience is preferred
  • Previous field experience 
  • Mechanical aptitude, maintenance and repair of equipment as required
  • Engineering degree. Preferred degree within Petroleum, Mechanical Engineering 
  • English - intermediate level
  • PC proficiency
