We are looking for volunteers to join us at our job club every Friday afternoon in Barnet. This service provides support to local people with learning disabilities to gain skills, knowledge and experience that will help them gain paid employment.
The job club runs every Friday from 12 to 3pm at Barnet Mencap, Hendon Lane, Barnet with around 20 people regularly joining.
Your role may include:
You will have the opportunity to meet new people, work alongside a team, and contribute to the skills development and progression of the attendees.
What skills do I need?
We are looking for someone with good organisation skills, a good communicator and someone who is accepting and welcoming of others.
Some knowledge of the job searching process, IT skills, experience of working with and supporting people, employer engagement, and knowledge of recruitment would be beneficial.
This role could be carried out by a person with a learning disability who has experience of looking for employment, working, or accessed support services to find work.
When do I need to be available?
The job club runs every Friday afternoon from 12pm-3pm at Barnet Mencap, on Hendon Lane.
Any time you can volunteer is helpful, whether you can volunteer every week or only a few times a month.
