About the role

After a recent fundraising of 80 million euros with Goldman Sachs and Eurazeo, Malt has expanded into The Netherlands. As part of the initial launch team we are looking for an experienced Business Developer to join the team.

The Netherlands is a mature market for freelancing, with a variety of established players from incumbent recruitment agencies to global offshore freelance platforms. Malt is positioned to be a true disruptor to the status quo thanks to our business model and the quality of our product. An essential element of our success will come from you, the Senior Business Developer. In this role you will be responsible for acquiring, establishing, and nurturing long-term partnerships with our most important clients. This is a challenging “full-stack” sales role that will directly contribute to the commercial expansion of Malt all while building quality relationships with our key accounts in the Netherlands.

As one of the pioneers in the Netherlands you will also have a strategic impact (definition of go to market, positioning against competition) and you will shape the culture of the local team for the years to come. We are looking for entrepreneurial/builders/optimistic individuals.

Senior Business Developers hold a "trusted advisor" position and establish a long-term support relationship with their clients. We don’t believe in closing deals and then forgetting about it, we are in it for the long haul with everyone we do business with. KAMs play a key role in bringing value to the various client stakeholders.

Your missions:

  • Developing a portfolio of active clients;
  • Being a master storyteller and salesperson for Malt and all the benefits it provides;
  • Designing, implementing, and executing business and GTM plans for each partner and building effective measurements that clearly show revenue milestones are being met;
  • Effectively collaborating with internal teams to ensure long-term client success;
  • Helping clients to understand and enhance their approach to freelancing;
  • Educate the market on the power of using independent consultants to become more agile and flexible;
  • Provide local insights from users on how to further enhance the product and Malt value proposition;
  • Conducting meetings and presenting deliverables on an ongoing basis: contractual follow-up points, production of external analyses and benchmarks, optimization of the customer experience, sharing of sector analyses, sharing of freelance feedback, etc.;
  • Identifying client needs in advance in order to ensure we can quickly present them with a broad range of high quality freelance profiles.

đŸ’Œ Career Development:

Here at Malt we have a clearly defined career path to accompany our teammates in their professional growth. You also have the opportunity to develop as an individual contributor or team leader: you will join an adventure where much is still to be done and where taking initiative is highly valued (organising events, actively participating in conferences, internal training with our peers, etc.).

  • Self-starter capable of working independently
  • Excited about working as a new entrant in a competitive market in a fast-paced, ever-changing scale-up environment
  • Able to effectively consider the short, medium, and long-term needs of clients
  • Able to travel within The Netherlands along with occasional trips to Paris, Madrid, Brussel and Munich
