Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Environmental Health & Safety Teams ensure and monitor safety in the workplace. This includes the application and communication of health, safety and hazardous material standards, procedures and practices consistent with TE, environmental and government regulations.

TE Connectivity is seeking a Regional EHS Leader to lead the EHS function for AUT EMEA manufacturing facilities in EMEA located in Belgium, Germany and Portugal. This position could be based in any of those countries, preferably in Portugal.

This professional will be responsible for leadership, management and implementation for all EHS systems, regulatory compliance and environmental sustainability. Develop strategy to align with corporate, segment and business unit objectives while implementing system improvements to achieve EHS and Sustainability excellence and maintain environmental, health and safety TE, and strong regulatory compliance.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead local teams in EMEA to deliver established EHS and Environmental Sustainability objectives and develop strategic improvement opportunities for the region
  • Lead and manage change to establish a culture of safe working while creating organizational capability and continuous improvement mindset and state of the art practice, standards, engagement, risk management and communication
  • Travel to sites in the region to perform on-site validation audits for established EHS&S objectives and critical EHS&S programs. Transition knowledge and experience to local teams and lead them to develop action plans to close gaps identified during on-site validation audits
  • Oversee completion of required EHS tasks for manufacturing location changes
  • Coach operational leadership in the region to establish best in class EHS culture in the region to drive a Zero incident workplace

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor´s degree required, masters degree preferred. Preferably in Environmental, Health & Safety or Engineering
  • Experience in manufacturing industries. Automotive, assembly and machinery manufacturing preferred
  • 10+ years of work experience in manufacturing environment with emphasis on safety/health/environmental management. 5+ years of country/ regional EHS leader is preferred
  • Professional EH&S certification preferred, e.g. Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, etc.
  • Willingness to travel (approx. 50%)
  • Business fluent in English. German preferred
