Compensation includes a base salary of $85,500.00 - $128,300.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Cox Automotive is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our Marketing engineering team.

Job Summary:

  • As a Software Engineer II, you'll be part of the One Connected Customer Record platform team, working on unifying consumer data across several business units in Cox Automotive.
  • Our applications are developed using .NetCore and AWS.
  • We utilize tools like New Relic, Splunk, and PagerDuty for monitoring and alerting on our platform.
  • Our team is responsible for the full life cycle of our applications, including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Our infrastructure is on AWS and managed using Terraform.
  • We adhere to CI/CD best practices for developing, testing, and deploying our applications.
  • Our team collaborates with products and architects to learn and apply those learnings to future product and technical development.
  • Our engineering organization is proactive about addressing technical debt. We work with product owners to prioritize and fix defects, and we reserve one sprint per quarter to work on improvements, such as cleaning up alerts, automating processes, and revisiting code.
  • We participate in an annual Hackathon with winners getting the chance to compete at a higher level within our parent company.
  • This role is for those who are interested in working on high-performance software running at scale in the cloud, and who are eager to learn new technologies and make a significant impact on our team, organization, and company.

Technologies:.NetCore, C#, SQL, AWS (including but not limited to Elastic Container Service, Lambdas, SQS, Terraform, and RDS), MongoDB, Typescript, Snowflake, NewRelic, Splunk, K6, GitHub, Octopus.

Your Role:

  • Design, build, and support cloud-native applications that serve our digital marketing stakeholders
  • Work with senior-level engineers on the team to implement patterns for our organization that deliver our software products at scale with observability, performance, and security
  • Mentor junior-level engineers on best practices and standards
  • Design and build service-oriented architecture solutions, constructing and managing services published to both internal and external consumers, and integrating with complex database and third-party components
  • Engage with your agile delivery team to build a culture of passion, trust, and creativity
  • Learn and leverage the automotive digital marketing domain to change the way the world buys, sells, and uses cars

Required Experience:

  • BA/BS degree in a related discipline and 2 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a Master’s degree and up to 2 years’ experience; or 14 years’ experience in a related field.
  • 2+ years of multi-threaded server-side web application development experience
  • Experience implementing applications with highly optimized and scalable architectures with an emphasis on .NetCore and AWS technologies
  • Object-oriented design experience including applied use of design patterns
  • Familiar with DevOps systems engineering experience such as performance troubleshooting, infrastructure as code, and building deployment pipelines
  • Experience implementing automated tests, observability, monitoring, and alerting
  • Ability to work independently, to design, develop, and deploy solutions, and to deliver projects on time with moderate direction
  • Ability to collaborate with other developers and with software test engineers to build the best solution for the customer
  • Database development skills including an understanding of database technologies and logical and physical data modeling
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies desired
  • Knowledge of highly available customer data platforms is a plus
