The Private Placements Director, Executive Director, or Managing Director will be a critical part of the CastleOak M&A Advisory team, reporting directly to the Head of M&A Advisory. This person will be part of a nimble, entrepreneurial team responsible for sourcing private fundraising engagements and executing private placements. The finance professional has established a broad network of private placement investors including public pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, PE sponsors, VC sponsors, corporations, family offices, and high net worth individuals. We are seeking a leader with a strong financial background who is organized, reliable, and capable of managing complex projects. The ideal candidate must be able to effectively collaborate with colleagues and demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills. 

Responsibilities

The Private Placements Director, Executive Director, or Managing Director will lead or manage the following business strategy, business development, and deal execution processes:

  • Lead and oversee the private placements business for CastleOak, ensuring growth, profitability, and exceptional service to clients
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive growth and achieve business objectives
  • Develop a business plan to increase private placements for the organization
  • Lead the execution of private placement activities
  • Develop marketing materials including teasers and private placement memoranda
  • Identify and contact potential investors
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure successful completion of projects
  • Collaborate with other departments at CastleOak to drive cross-selling opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and laws
  • Manage and provide guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities to junior team members
  • Maintain a strong network of industry contacts and partnerships
  • Report regularly to senior management on the performance of the private placements business and provide strategic recommendations

Required Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, writing, and presentation skills
  • 7+ years of private placements deal experience
  • Strong industry relationships and substantial transaction experience
  • Genuine commitment to teamwork
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple simultaneous projects
  • Excellent listening, market positioning, and marketing skills
  • Strong marketing and presentation skills
  • Ability to supervise vice presidents, associates, and analysts
  • Outstanding achievement in academics, employment, and personal endeavors
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, roll up your sleeves, results-driven environment
  • Exceptional ethics, accountability, and integrity
  • Series 79 and 63 licenses
  • Bachelor’s degree

Location: New York, NY

% Travel: 20 ‐ 40%

Work type: Full‐time, hybrid

Expected salary range: $175,000 - $275,000
