Your Opportunity

The Senior US Employment Specialist, Global HR Projects & Compliance – HR Talent Services, is responsible for providing country specific subject matter expertise on employment compliance. Responsible for the delivery and oversight of resources and tools to support compliance related policies and practices. Under the direction of the Employment Compliance Manager this position collaborates with HR Client Services, HR Services, other Talent Services teams and key FST stakeholders (including Risk Management) to facilitate accurate guidance and support project and process direction related to compliance with employment legislation and internal business standards.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts and maintains research on employment legislation. Remains current on changing employment legislation in assigned country.
  • Under the direction of the Employment Compliance Manager support business and employment projects and programs.
  • Lead or provide subject matter expertise on a variety of employment projects driven by legislation or as identified by the business.
  • Responsible for identifying and providing research and analysis to support, recommend and determine employment and compliance initiatives and direction to create and update employment policies and practices.
  • Responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining supporting processes, resources and tools for HR Client Services regarding employment compliance related policies and practices.
  • Consulting and delivering training for HR Services and Client Services practitioners.
  • Provides guidance to and consults with HR Client Services on legislative requirements within assigned country that impact employment and business practices and processes.
  • Maintains knowledge of HR leading edge best practices and brings forward recommendations.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Human Resources, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of HR Business Partner or related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • SPHR, CPHR, or HR certification preferred.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • $94,400 - $141,600 Min/Max Pay Range(s) for postings located in NYC/NY
  • $103,080 - $155,800 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO and HI
  • $111,400 - $167,100 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in WA
  • CA Other Areas $103,080 - CA Other Areas $155,800 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
