TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.
Position: AP Equipment Sourcing Analyst

Job Summary: Provides the direction for optimum sourcing of the assigned commodities. The AP Equipment Sourcing Analyst is considered the corporate expert for the assigned commodities and leads the development and implementation of the global commodity strategy in Collaboration with the Global ESS Commodity Strategy Owner to realize established goals and objectives on Tactical and Transactional Level. It is expected that the AP Equipment Sourcing Analyst will have responsibility of managing RFQs, negotiating contracts, including terms and condition, and working in alignment with AP ESS strategic sourcing manager, regional indirect procurement leader and Global Commodity Director based on Global Strategy, by collaboration with corporate Engineering, Cross Business Unit and COEs leaders.

Required Job Family Skills: Ability to draft standard RFQ/RFI and E-procurement technology with requirements and ability to analyze suppliers' response. Execute Global Supplier and Capability Strategy by Region to do Tactical Supplier decision by the Region. Expert knowledge of contract language associated with Equipment Technical Specifications, manufacture process, automation technology, Intellectual Property protection, warranty, and other various important terms a plus. Advanced knowledge, i.e. liability, impact of suppliers' proposed deviations to our standard terms and conditions, TE recommended responses and/or action plans considered a critical skill. Ability to develop non-standard contract language, communicate with legal and with BUs on applicable issues needed. Thorough understanding of supplier evaluation and approval process using scorecard system. Performs supplier evaluations, including inspection plan development, monitoring supplier quality, delivery, and conformance to requirements; Develops corrective action plans as needed based on evaluation result. Ability to understand root cause of quality issue and facilitate communication between supplier and TE Connectivity quality for resolutions. General understanding and application of supplier capacity planning, and single/dual sourcing strategies with knowledge of LCC supplier development for strategy deployment globally. Knowledge to drive internal Team Development.
Very important – must have experience in developing high spend strategies due to Global Strategy (>$100 Millions), leading and developing diverse teams, influencing others not directly reporting to him/her strategy, driving implementation around supplier consolidation/best practices, drive optimization of materials being procured and should have good experience in managing change as well as developing and executing diversified supplier development strategies.
Having experience and solid temperament in dealing with resistance to change is critical, and he/she will lead the strategic development across the entire AP in Consolidation with Global and Reginal Leadership China, Korea, Japan, and Thailand, etc.
Must be able to partner with internal Business Unites, Communicate easily to upper management Level and Engineering Leadership to obtain the best solution for TE.
English and Mandarin are required, other languages will be beneficial (Japanese, Korean).
Able to influence and gain customer buy-in for deployment of strategies is an essential element for the successful candidate.

Working within a complex customer environment including engineering and technical issues and communication with leadership is a key critical skill. Looking for a seasoned expert to work alongside other commodity peers as well as coach junior team members. Must be willing to travel 25-50% of time throughout the China, Japan, Korea, and Thailand and global to meet with stakeholders, and to communicate and sell long term regional and global vision/strategy.
