Typical Qualifications of a Staffing Senior Associate:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree required; master’s in HR preferred
  • A minimum of 4 to 6 years of work experience in a consulting or professional services environment
  • Prior experience in resource planning, allocation, talent management, or related fields is mandatory
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify, synthesize, and communicate trends and patterns in data effectively
  • Exemplary organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and collaborating with senior stakeholders

WHAT YOU WILL DO AND HOW YOU WILL GROW

Position Description:

Dalberg in APAC is currently seeking a bright, motivated, and entrepreneurial candidate to join its Operations team as a Staffing Senior Associate. This is a full-time role that will be based in the Mumbai/New Delhi office.

About the role:

The Staffing Senior Associate is expected to help deliver value to Dalberg APAC’s clients by ensuring the optimal staffing of all consulting staff for projects and be responsible for overseeing their professional development and learning journey. Working closely, with the Staffing Manager, the HR head, the Staffing Partner, Management team members and all staff, the Staffing Associate / Senior Associate will manage day to day staffing operations, focusing on allocating the right individuals to the right projects by optimizing for business needs, project requirements, and individuals’ professional development.

The Staffing Senior Associate will be an integral part of Dalberg Advisor’s Operations team, who will support consultants and partners across the APAC region. While the Senior Associate will directly report to the Staffing Manager, they will also liaise with the HR head, the Staffing Partner lead and APAC and global leadership to align on staffing priorities and will be pivotal in designing and deploying this and our overall staffing and professional development strategy for APAC. This role is both strategic as well as implementation-focused.

Key responsibilities include:

Staffing allocation

  • Work with the Staffing Manager to address staffing demands of Partners, Consultants, and projects across APAC
  • Maintain tracking of the staffing pipeline by coordinating with the Partners
  • Collate staffing requests systematically, develop/estimate weekly staffing requirements and communicate them promptly to Partners
  • Analyze staffing metrics and trends to provide insights for decision-making and prepare regular reports for senior management review
  • Staff project teams in a timely and appropriate manner, considering the following: 
  • Needs of the project in terms of seniority and skills
  • Business needs (cost, revenue implications)
  • Individuals’ professional development and other staffing needs
  • Maintain all staffing-related documentation, databases, and tools

Staffing capacity management

  • Monitor short and medium resource levels and make recommendations for standard work and contingency planning
  • Monitor work levels and address any imbalances as appropriate and highlight well-being issues to the Staffing Partner Lead and the HR head
  • Proactively arrange staff from other divisions or offices when there are no staff available within the region
  • Approval of leave / Leave of absence /transfers etc. for consultant staff members in accordance with the upcoming project pipeline and staffing needs
  • Establish appropriate relationships with staff at all levels within the region

Projects

  • Collaborate with the Staffing Manager to continuously improve APAC staffing processes and support global initiatives as needed.
  • Support other office projects related to staffing (e.g., working with Finance Team on project finances) as required.
