Data Scientist Manager

Espoo, Finland, Hybrid

The Role

In this role you will manage a team to build ML models trained on internal and external data sources. Your models will improve our sales and demand operations, solve business puzzles and identify growth opportunities. Existing data sources include our demand planning data, business funnel, marketing data and acquired or scraped market data. As part of your role, you will work closely with business stakeholders & data engineers and deploy robust ML pipelines. Your focus is enabling growth with great data insights and conclusions delivered to decision takers across our organization. You will be a self-starter explorer, searching for new ways of generating value with insights.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Training and deploying ML to predict business dynamics and generate insights.
  • Building robust ETL and ML-Ops pipelines
  • Using empirical analysis and statistical modeling to explain our business
  • Making ML insights business-digestible.
  • You can bridge the gap between data and business impact
  • Presenting conclusions and recommendations to leadership
  • Responsible for managing a team of data scientists
  • Responsible for developing and implementing data-driven strategies

Skills You’ll Need

  • 7+ years of experience in a data science role
  • 3+ years of experience managing data science team
  • Masters (or equivalent) in STEM, Business, Data or similar
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R is essential.
  • Machine Learning and Deep Learning, being comfortable with techniques like supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and neural networks
  • Need to apply statistical analysis concepts to build high-quality machine learning models and algorithms.
  • Data Visualization, able to create compelling visualizations is crucial. Skilled in using tools like Tableau to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders
  • Advanced statistics and business analysis skills
  • Experience with MLOps and ETL within cloud or on-prem environment
  • Good communication skills in order to work together with different teams globally, in English
  • In addition to the essential technical capabilities You also possess curiosity, critical thinking, and adaptability.

The following qualifications will be considered a plus:

  • Experience with Tableau or Alteryx
  • Background from Semiconductor or other Tech companies
