About the role

The Production Superintendent is responsible for a Production area on site; to ensure that production lines in charge within the facility achieves at all time the level of safety, quality, customer service and cost.

This role requires knowledge and experience of production, team leadership, quality assurance, EHS management and continuous improvement tools, ensuring all appropriate resources are focused on the delivery of the plant’s strategic and tactical goals.

Your responsibilities

  • Comply with the guidelines of the Quality, Safety, Health and Environment Policy
  • Responsible for production operations by ensuring all products are manufactured in accordance with our quality standards and to an agreed schedule, at minimum cost.
  • Responsible for ensuring all production operations are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with State and Federal regulations including our company policies.
  • Leads the production area training program to ensure appropriate skills are available for current and new technologies.
  • Collaborate in the analysis of available loss data and champions activities to improve plant equipment effectiveness and reduce wastage within operations.
  • Empowers our production teams to take ownership for their work processes and improvement plans, to be fully autonomous to ensure KPI targets are achieved.
  • Accountable for ensuring sufficient and flexible work processes are developed in conjunction with Operations leadership team and then implemented flawlessly throughout all operations in order to deliver Production KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators).
  • Support and embrace all project scopes in his area to compliment the plant continuous improvement methodology and meet new product development timings.
  • Accountable for conversion cost vs agreed budget (Head Count perspective)
  • Leads and co-ordinates all production activities with engineering and materials team to ensure minimal unplanned interruptions to plant operations.
  • Analyzes production downtime data and develops and implements corrective actions to improve production processes. 
  • Champions the development and compliance of Plant safety and housekeeping programs and practices.
  • Supports the development and implementation of CI/Lean, X-trim, Squeeze, and NPD/EPD programs within their respective areas
  • Review daily operating results and monitor trends in labor usage, line downtimes, Quality and EHS KPIs, and material usage.
  • Performs functions inherent in all supervisory positions including performance evaluation and Training & Development programs for production operators
  • Supports the Plant Cost Reduction/ CI program and other Improvement Program that lead the site to achieve their goals.
  • Accurately assesses strengths and development needs of the Production Team. Gives timely feedback and coaching. Provides developmental assignments to achieve high performance. Ensures the availability and implementation of effective training programs.
  • Participates in ongoing self-development to ensure professional, functional and industry competence.
  • Demonstrates organizational values, leadership and Manufacturing functional competencies.
  • Provide effective coaching for Production team to ensure retention and career development

The experience we're looking for

  • 4+ years of production supervisory experience
  • An understanding of manufacturing process, supply chain process, and factory compliance
  • Previous experience with production continuous improvement projects
  • Bilingual English and Spanish
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
