About the department

The abrdn Investment Trust marketing team is dedicated to promoting the range of seventeen UK listed investment trusts managed by abrdn. Our remit is to engage with existing and potential retail shareholders – those shareholders managing their own portfolios, often investing through execution only platforms such as Interactive Investor, Hargreaves Lansdown and AJ Bell. The investment trust marketing team is made up of three people: one Head of Investment Trust Promotion, one Marketing Manager and one Marketing Executive, which is the role currently vacant.

About the role

As a Marketing Executive you will support the Investment Trust Marketing Manager and make significant contributions to our dynamic closed end funds team.

You will be a part of the driving force behind our marketing initiatives, showcasing your strong attention to detail and proofing skills. Your responsibilities will span the entire marketing mix, encompassing print advertising, digital marketing, press relations and events, as well as helping with the preparation of written reports for client boards. This role is ideal for someone who has a background in investment management and has either contributed to marketing campaigns across various media or has developed a robust skill set within the industry.

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the Investment Trust Marketing Manager to execute strategic marketing plans.
  • Champion marketing campaigns and projects across diverse media channels.
  • Craft compelling written reports for client boards.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative marketing strategies that resonate with our target audience.

About the candidate requirements 

To be successful in this role you will need (minimum experience/ requirements) 

  • Experience in investment management
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading marketing campaigns
  • Exceptional literacy, attention to detail and proofing skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Strong experience in managing marketing campaigns and projects across different media and client channels
