Job Description

Visas Digital Partnerships organization is responsible for managing Visas overall innovation agenda and initiatives and the management of strategic partnerships with critical non financial institutions and technology companies. The team identifies, structures, and closes deals to pursue opportunities with these critical companies.

The Senior Director will lead the Strategic Accounts team for Digital Partnerships in CEMEA, with a focus on large technology platforms and will be responsible for identifying and implementing partnership

opportunities for large and complex partnerships. The role requires extensive experience and a high level of familiarity with the strategy and operations of global technology companies. We are looking for a

professional who can identify potential deals, develop the strategy and manage the teams needed to execute such deals.

The Digital Partnerships team works closely with Visas Core Product and Digital Solutions as well as other stakeholders such as Value Added Services, Processing, Cybersource, Risk, Finance, Marketing, etc. teams to execute partnership agreements and deliverables that are highly complex, strategic and cross functional in nature. Aside from a strong strategic, commercial, and financial mindset, the role also

requires proven ability to build and develop teams and individual team members.

Strategy Development and Segment Expertise

  • Lead the creation of the overall business development and account management strategy, specifically for large Technology partners
  • Identify strategic opportunities for Visa capabilities through a strong understanding of the segment and customers business needs, leveraging Visa solutions across all product platforms
  • Lead Technology account strategy in CEMEA and engage the wider Visa organization to execute plans to deliver business goals
  • Identify, structure and execute deals in CEMEA (and as a regional representative globally, where required)
  • Analyze performance of existing Technology accounts and partner with respective Visa and client teams to identify areas for business growth
  • Drive sales opportunities across consumer solutions, value-added services (VAS) and commercial and money movement solutions (CMS)

Business Development and Account Management

  • Lead the development, negotiation and signing of proposals by working with various internal stakeholders and relationships with strategic partner executives
  • Develop and execute customized account strategy, objectives and plans to increase revenue and market share for select strategic partner accounts
  • Lead account and relationship management and sales plan for these accounts, ensuring that the client’s business objectives are met
  • Foster senior relationships across the client organization to influence clients strategy
  • Engage Visa regional leadership to achieve support for named accounts in given markets
  • Working with the innovation team, recommend, develop, and implement new and creative approaches to grow clients business
  • Align cross functional teams on key proposals including representation from Marketing, Product, Operations, Market Research and Technology

Execution

  • Work with cross functional teams to ensure partner implementations are on track and delivering against the plan
  • Proactively identify and solve complex problems that impact the management, relationship and direction of the business
  • Act as Visa CEMEA ambassador for named clients. Support market resource engagement with Visa clients, maintain close relationship with local teams to achieve alignment and engagement with the local Visa organization
  • Problem solve as issues arise during deal implementation and execution

Communication

  • Report to and interact with senior management and executives to indicate status of partnerships
  • Foster in-depth and productive relationships at all levels with the client and across the Visa organization
  • Proactively educate the Visa organization on market developments and partner opportunities

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree or higher, with at least 15 years of relevant work experience. MBA strongly preferred

Thorough understanding of technology landscape, with experience of working at one or more top global technology companies in a sales or strategy role strongly preferred

Corporate Strategy, Technology or Management Consulting, also desirable

Experience in planning, organizing, and managing deals, from negotiation to closing and through delivery, multiple large long term projects with diverse cross functional teams

Strategic thinking and solid business acumen, with a track record in solving business problems through data driven quantitative methodologies and with the ability to incorporate new techniques to solve business problems

Strong executive presence, sharp written and oral communication, including large group presentations

Demonstrated business credibility with clients and working teams, and strong diplomacy skills

Proven and very strong team management skills and experience, including recruiting and people development

Self motivated and ability to independently drive business development efforts

Global experience and demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment

Ability to travel within CEMEA on short notice

Intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous learning

Fluent in English
