About the role

As Senior Paralegal, Employment you will be a part of the North American Legal team, reporting directly to the Senior Legal Counsel, Employment North America. Reckitt is seeking an experienced paralegal to primarily assist in Employment Law matters, but will generally assist the legal team on other matters as needed. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic legal team and work on solving emerging issues creatively in an exciting and fast-paced environment.

Your responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HR and business teams to collect initial information to assist with responding to various requests, including subpoenas and initial response documents
  • Assist with employment disputes and litigation matters as needed, including fact finding and gathering, as well as reviewing, organizing, and synthesizing information and documents
  • Prepare initial draft templates for employment documentation such as litigation hold requests, separation agreements, workplace rules and policies based on guidance and feedback of Manager, HR Compliance, and other groups as needed
  • Assist with developing, and support the delivery of, employment law training for HR and business stakeholders
  • Liaise and collaborate across various HR, legal, and business teams located in the U.S. and across the world
  • Closely monitor new legal developments to share with the team
  • Conduct initial research on various US laws and regulations utilizing online resources (e.g., Practical Law/Westlaw)
  • Perform document management and filing, and budget/invoice management
  • Provide assistance on special projects/programs requiring stakeholder , leadership and/or management input as required by Senior Leadership for NA. This may include confidential projects such as: M&A initiatives, restructuring, and integration efforts of high importance to the organization
  • Provide operational and administrative support for manager (and NA legal team as needed), including calendaring, creating agendas and note taking, and preparing presentations and training materials
  • Other responsibilities/projects as assigned.

The experience we're looking for

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, e-discovery review and file management systems
  • Interpersonal skills, intelligence, and the ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and cogent manner
  • Bachelor's degree required; paralegal certification or related major is a plus
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ paralegal experience with a major corporation or leading law firm required
  • Experience in the consumer products industry is a plus
  • The ability to interface effectively with internal and external senior management
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously
  • Clear and effective communicator with a commitment to responsiveness and problem-solving
  • Familiarity with billing systems and budgeting
  • Strong desire to learn the business and function smoothly as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Experience designing presentations and legal training resources
  • Working knowledge of HR practices and various employment laws, including ADA, FMLA, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, workers' compensation laws, and others
  • Program/project management experience a plus

US salary ranges

$90,000.00

  • $134,000.00

US pay transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
