SSC FA Analyst

Purpose: Responsible for processing all transaction from capital investments, checking that all accounting records are correct, timely and appropriately accounted in the fixed assets books, as well as timely monitoring on a daily basis; control of what was registered in WIP and capitalized assets, updating it and making inventories with the purpose of maintaining a clean and ordered base according to the standard required by the all Millicom group entities under SSC scope, guaranteeing efficiency and compliance to the IFRS, MIC Accounting policies and SOP of Fixed Asset.

Key Activities for the position

  • Operates the FA functions as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Establish and maintain a fixed assets register updated.
  • Comply with Corporate Policies and Values
  • Track compilation of project costs, monitor completion of the project and initiate the start of depreciation for each asset put into service.
  • Prepare asset apportionment documents for capitalization process
  • Establish a property, plant and equipment policy
  • Certify Fixed Asset Account Reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate calculation, recording and reporting of Asset Retirement Obligations
  • Ensure accurate calculation, recording and reporting of PP&E.
  • EBS Fixed Assets/Oracle asset, iasset Matters Expert.
  • Responsible to monitor the effectiveness of controls included in the processes under their review (including Internal controls)
  • Annual, Quarterly and Monthly fixed asset report preparation
  • Interact with other country personnel to improve process of fixed asset.
  • Responsible to keep up to date the SLA closing checklist and control lists
  • Possess strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting and share that knowledge with others.
  • Demonstrate initiative in seeking additional responsibility.
  • Ensure accurate calculation, recording and reporting of PP&E.
  • Oversee Fixed assets Accounting for Additions & write-off, Unproved Property time impairment calculations, testing and all Fixed Asset Reporting and analysis.
  • Work with staff and other departments to resolve any Fixed Asset issues.

Basic Qualifications

  • College graduate or close to graduation as Certified Public Accountant or Business Administration Bachelor (preferable)
  • Two years of previous experience in FA Process activities in SSC (preferable)
  • Computer skills – Microsoft office & Knowledge of Oracle
  • Bilingual in Spanish, English and French. Other language knowledge is desirable.

  • Systems analysis and accounting theory and practice
  • Process Improvement
  • Strong ERP knowledge (SAP)
  • Knowledge of Millicom’s policies and procedures
  • Strong Knowledge of International Accounting Standards (IASs) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable
  • Knowledge of Procurement to Pay processes
  • Strong knowledge Excel/macro/pivot table
