Cloudera is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to play a key role in advancing Cloudera’s product offerings in the cloud. Since its origin, Cloudera has enabled several enterprise organizations to effectively manage and use their data using on-premise infrastructure. We are now building software solutions that enable our customers to leverage cloud infrastructure to facilitate their growing data needs, and thereby accelerating Cloudera’s next stage of growth.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will: 

  • Act as a hands-on engineer to support work across the Backend Engineering Practice; from small initiatives all the way up to the design and build of complex systems.
  • Lead and participate in projects directly, working with all other practices to ensure successful project outcome.
  • Senior engineers and stakeholders to ensure appropriate progress and results
  • Partner with and support the business development team to create and deliver compelling pitches that help define the problem, captivate the client, present a solution, and work out the engagement (scope, structure, deliverables) terms.

We are excited about you if you have:

  • Tooling experience: Gradle, Maven
  • Framework/Library experience: Spring, Hibernate, Java 21
  • Experience with the following: API design, RESTful architectures, HTTP,
  • Experience with microservices and API development
  • Ability to work in a distributed setting with team members spread in multiple geographies
  • Demonstrated ability to work on large cross-functional projects, including strong written communication skills and a collaborative mindset, as you will be working with many teams inside and outside of Cloudera
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience

You may also have....

  • Experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with containerization technology such as Docker and Kubernetes
