The American Heart Association’s Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization. 

The Junior Production/ Junior Graphic Artist intern will work within American Heart Association Creative Studios to gain professional experience with a national non-profit organization while working to create compelling visual content for all marketing channels. This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure on a creative team that combines design, production, and creative operations to ensure a well-rounded experience. Knowledge of print and digital executions as well as collaborative skills are crucially important. Internship Overview:

  • Time Commitment: 25 hours per week
  • Internship Duration: 5/20/24 – 8/9/24
  • Hybrid position-remote & 1 day a week onsite. Must live in the Dallas, TX area
  • Salary: $23.00 per hour

Internship Outcomes:

Individuals participating in the internship program are provided with an opportunity to:

  • Gain important and practical job skills to be successful in a non-profit environment.
  • Opportunity to explore a career-path with a reputable voluntary health/service organization.
  • Gain experience in the professional world while learning about board management.
  • Complete an internship that enriches your academic and professional resume as well as enriching your personal life by making a difference in the lives of others.

Responsibilities

Tasks could include things like the following:

  • Work with teams throughout the organization to concept and create compelling content for digital: video for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, static graphic imagery, and for print: posters, ads, invitations, and infographics.
  • Archive content created within the Design team.
  • Source new content ideas, monitor marketing trends, and then execute based on these trends.
  • Take direction from art directors to help produce large-scale campaign deliverables.
  • Learn brand standards and become an ambassador of these standards.

Qualifications

Electronic portfolio submission required. Please share your web address or link on your resume.

  • Knowledge and experience with in-app editing tools on TikTok and Instagram Reels as well as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
  • Excellent graphic design and motion graphic skills required. Video editing experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with social media content creation required.
  • Ability to deal professionally in a corporate or non-profit environment and assume responsibility for guiding projects and programs from inception through completion.
  • Effective oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities.
  • Required Equipment: Reliable WiFi Connection
  • Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm CST.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.
