Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Marketing Manager located in Bangkok, Thailand supporting the APAC region. The Marketing Manager is an individual contributor role and provides marketing support and counsel to franchisees, advertising agencies and internal teammates. Assist in the development, management and implementation of marketing plans and programs to optimize traffic, store sales, brand building, service fees and profits for Dairy Queen Franchisees. Protect Dairy Queen® Trademarks. Ensure assigned national level marketing initiatives are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Accountabilities Include:

  • Assist in the development and manage the execution of the strategic plans and annual marketing calendars for assigned markets. Work with franchisees to obtain feedback, understanding and support of the strategic plan, while ensuring the strategic plan is incorporated into everyday business with the franchisees and DQ team. In collaboration with the regional team and Director - APAC Marketing, ensure the development of brand strategies to ensure long-term competitiveness of DQ concept and business.
  • Assist in managing effective relationships with all members of the international team, APAC team, franchisees, agencies, research companies and vendors. Present information, strategies, and concepts to cross functional leaders and franchisees in a manner that inspires to action and to achieve established corporate goals.
  • Work with franchisees and agencies to assist in the development and review all marketing and creative materials developed by licensees and/or agencies to be presented for approval for proper use of all DQ trademarks.
  • Guide and support all consumer and product market research and analysis including identifying target markets, monitoring market trends and the competitive environment, projecting market potential and product penetration opportunities.
  • Support the new product development/innovation process internally and with the franchisees, guiding the roll out and introduction of new products. Help create linkage between brand strategy and product strategy ensuring a robust product pipeline to fuel marketing calendars and strengthen brand positioning.
  • Monitor and manage key agency communication with franchisees. In certain markets, help agencies accountable for performance, media buying, creative direction, brand building and budget compliance. Initiate and participate in agency performance reviews on an annual basis.
  • Provide relevant business and financial analysis of key issues to internal and external shareholders including comp sales, sales trends by category and sales results generated by specific media activity. Evaluate promotions, media investments and sales trends to help form plan recommendations. Present analysis to necessary shareholders as appropriate.
  • Manage and collaborate with key internal teams and appropriate advertising agency to manage digital objectives that align with business objectives. Review and develop best practices for social media content to share with individual markets.

Qualifications

  • B.A. or B.S. Degree in Marketing or related field, MBA preferred.
  • Must have 6-8 years of prior Marketing experience in consumer related marketing organization(s), including consumer research, product development and the development of advertising and promotional campaigns.
  • Experience working within a franchisor organization, preferably a QSR brand.
  • Experience with planning and executing e-coms and digital marketing programs.
  • Experience with teaching, planning and executing various consumer research studies (including concept, pricing, market assessments)
  • Strong analytical skills – ability to review data and find insights and opportunities for markets, and provide clear next steps to initiate change.
  • Track record of clear product successes, creating and leading from product inception to launch.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and requests simultaneously, within an intense, deadline-driven environment.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver.
  • Relationship building skills with the ability to create mutually beneficial relationships with both internal and external clients.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate marketing strategies to a variety of audiences.
  • Well organized with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Ability to lead other departments such as R&D, Operations, Training and Supply Chain to complete projects on time.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English and Thai.
  • Travel required for internal and external meetings. Local and international travel is required (approximately 20%). Valid passport with no restrictions to global travel.
