This role is high visibility, strategic in nature and drives a large part of the Business Customer Experience, which is core to the Amazon Business program. This opportunity will allow you to join a fast paced and quickly growing business segment within Amazon and we are looking for a leader who is passionate about building new businesses, solving complex problems for our B2B Customers, and overall working to drive Cost, Performance and Quality.

Key job responsibilities

  • Create and execute strategy roadmaps, lead high-impact projects, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
  • You will drive the long-term vision through development of vision documents (PRFAQs), definition of business requirements, launch and post-launch measurement.
  • Candidate will possess a strong product management background, will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects, to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.
  • Develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done.
  • An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

About the team

The Amazon Business Operations (AB Ops) team is a single-threaded WW Operations team driving B2B requirements with Amazon wide fulfillment Operations and Technology teams. Our core themes of Delivery Consolidation, Delivery Experience and

Address Management have been broken down into distinct workstreams.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of experience in product management
  • 5+ years of supply chain and/or retail industry experience
  • At least 3 years of experience leading or closely partnering with software development leaders and engineers to design and build new solutions.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance or equivalent industry experience. ·
  • Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience managing financial performance, and making related trade-off decisions
  • Experience leading customer research, benchmarking
  • Data-driven decision making or quantitative analysis skills (including deep knowledge of Excel and SQL)
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to simplify complex topics for broad audiences
  • Demonstrated success growing a business, market planning/analysis, and opportunity identification
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous entrepreneurial culture
  • Written and spoken English proficiency

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, Operations and/or Economics
  • Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions.
  • Experience with Localization/Internationalization, tailoring customer experiences to specific and local customer needs
  • Ability to thrive in the face of ambiguity; dynamically develop structure/frameworks to tackle problems, plot out the happy path.
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and resourcefulness; you find/create nimble solutions to challenging problems without sacrificing the long-term vision.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas
  • Exhibits excellent judgment
  • Has relentlessly high standards
  • Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution
  • Business level written/verbal Japanese fluency
