The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2300 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest Operations hub.. The India Operations Centre team at Chennai, Bangalore and Gurugram supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Hitachi Energy To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Lead Engineering authority for projects/tenders with low to high complexity for Flexible A.C. Transmission Systems (FACTS) Technology aligned with Power Quality Solutions (PQS) Business. Drive the technical solution of small, medium, or large projects/tender with cost effectively and in accordance with contract specifications and quality standards.

Coordinate with Project/Tendering team (i.e., System Engineering, Primary/Mechanical Engineering, Secondary/Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering), Commissioning, Project managers, SCM, Civil / steel design functions, consultants, end customers etc.

Your responsibility:

  • Driving the technical solution in coordination with other departments (i.e. System Engineering, Primary/Mechanical Engineering, Secondary/Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering) and support Tender Manager/ Project Manager for assigned Project/Tender. 
  • Evaluating risks and opportunities, strategizes mitigation of engineering disciplines.
  • Interacting with customers, contractors, suppliers. Attends project/Tender meetings and presents all technical aspects of project/Tender assignments.
  • Collaborating and networking with engineering colleagues within the organization. Shares best practice across different projects and disciplines.
  • Evaluating the overall cost of the engineering disciplines and getting approved from Business Unit Head
  • Utilizing standard processes, tools, and techniques. Ensuring that engineering activities are complied with required safety regulations and contractual requirements.
  • Knowledge of Power Systems equipment and their purpose. Example, Power Transformers, Capacitors, Reactors, Instrument Transformer and measuring equipment, Circuit Breakers, Disconnectors and Surge Arrestors
  • Knowledge on International standards (i.e., IEEE/IEC/GIGRE)
  • Strong interpersonal and Presentation Skill.
  • Dynamic and Proactive, willing to grow in the organization
  • Comprehensive knowledge of related disciplines in the organization.
  • Team player, ready to play the role across the different countries
  • Fluent English and good communication skills
  • High level of ownership
  • Very Good Negotiation & Persuasion Skills.

Your background

  • B.E./B. Tech/M. Tech with minimum 8-10 Years of Experience in any Engineering Discipline (i.e., System Engineering, Primary/Mechanical Engineering, Secondary/Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering).
  • Experience with Medium to High Voltage Projects in Power System Industry.
