Project Manager (On-Site) – Qatar/Doha

You‘ll make an impact by:

  • Ensures compliance with customer contract requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate EHS standards.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate QA/QC standards.
  • Identification of claims and estimation of related expenditures.
  • Support and advise Lead Engineer during technical discussions.
  • Actively develop and utilize all sources of information, know-how and experience for a project specific and entrepreneurial use.
  • Identifies and evaluates continuously all opportunities for the project enhancement.
  • Identifies and evaluates all evident risks, suggests appropriate countermeasures, and reports the same to the project management.
  • Represents Siemens’ contractual and commercial interest’s vs customers and communicates with customers.
  • Develop additional business opportunities within the actual project.
  • Control of work results provided by sub-suppliers and partners and escalation of deficiencies in quality and cooperation.
  • Explanation of solutions and Siemens capabilities to customers.
  • Clarifies requirements with customers and, if applicable, with authorities.
  • Obtains licenses and consents.
  • Drives own empowerment with adequate signature authorization and target agreement to manage the project as entrepreneur.
  • Stands for overall responsibility on project results based on the strategic priorities and set goals (e.g. budget, quality, schedule, EHS).
  • Manage the project through the entire project Life Cycle until final acceptance (FAC).
  • Leads and manages all assigned project staff including internal, team, Global Engineering Centers (GECs) colleagues, 3rd party / external stuff, and sub-contractor’s team.
  • Coach junior team members.
  • Manage Stakeholders.
  • Provides feedback and lessons learned.
  • In addition, the following shall be specific tasks:
  • Prepares and participate in customer monthly meeting.
  • Prepares and presents customer weekly site report.
  • Prepares internal weekly site reports.
  • Supports claims and claim defenses vs customer and contractors and provides substantiation for claims and claim defense.
  • Executes specific tasks as requested by Project Director.

Your success is grounded in

Education and Certifications:

  • Holds Engineering Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation Systems, or Information Technology IT/OT Engineering. MBA is preferred. 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification PM@Siemens, PMI PMP, or equivalent international certifications

Professional Experience:

  • 10 years professional experience in large EPC projects.
  • 8 years professional experience in engineering and execution of contracts.
  • 3 years professional experience in leading teams of > 15 individuals.
  • Led successful execution of multiple strategic projects mainly in Oil and Gas industry sector, preferred in Qatar, or Middle East. 
  • Implemented project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid approaches to optimize project delivery timelines and ensure quality outcomes.
  • Collaborated with cross-functional teams to conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address vulnerabilities and safeguard critical assets.
  • Established and maintained strong relationships with key stakeholders to foster a culture of cybersecurity awareness and drive alignment with organizational risk management priorities.

Proficient in all phases of project lifecycle management, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure. Skilled in defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables while establishing clear timelines and resource allocations.

Strategic Leadership:

Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives that address critical cybersecurity challenges and support overarching business goals. Experienced in guiding teams through complex projects while mitigating risks and optimizing resource utilization.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including technical teams, C-suite executives, regulatory authorities, and external partners.

Problem Solving:

Analytical thinker with a knack for identifying root causes of issues and devising innovative solutions to overcome obstacles. Skilled in navigating ambiguity and adapting to changing environments to achieve project objectives.
