About the role

This position plays an important role by contributing to – the Satellite & Space business AOP objectives for revenue, products, product development, and innovation!

Key duties:

  • Lead the Satellite Data and Transponders product offering ensuring AOP targets are met;
  • Support Satellite Sales / BDM with resigns new opportunities and tender responses;
  • Drive product development and business planning process across cross-functional teams such as Engineering, IT, Operations, Legal and Regulatory;
  • Develop documents that describe high level use case, technical requirements, revenue and ROI;
  • Develop new from concept designs and drive action through the organisation to get product to market;
  • Develop the product strategy roadmap, set pricing and margins for Satellite products, and build collateral and sales tools that support selling the product;
  • Construct product positioning and messaging that differentiate Optus Satellite & Space from our competitors;
  • Lead all aspects of the product life cycle across Satellite Media, Transponder, Data and Voice products;
  • Develop satellite data strategy to increase revenue to go towards future new Satellites (Optus 11) yet to be launched; &
  • Support and manage products related to Defence which will require defence clearance.

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Marketing (Product), with further studies in Engineering/Business/Marketing advantageous;
  • Advanced technical Product Management experience including substantial experience in the Satellite Industry, preferably 8 years in the Telecommunications arena;
  • Australian citizenship with the ability to obtain necessary security clearances;
  • Proven track record in Product Management underpinned by strong financial competence and high-end analytical abilities; &
  • Advanced market research and market planning experience.
