About the role

Do you want to join a highly committed team eager to reach our vision of zero loss of lives, no injuries or damages caused by fire and gas? Autronica now has an opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer in Trondheim.

In this role you will work independently on designing plastic parts for Autronica products. The first big, exciting assignment will be to design a new fire alarm panel. The majority of your work will be new product development for our fire safety systems. If you are creative, love technology and you want to join us in helping to build a safer world, this position is perfect for you!

In this role you will:

  • Design new mechanical parts for high-safety systems.
  • Work with subcontractors with regards to parts design and manufacturing.
  • Conduct quality controls, Key Product Characteristics, PPAPs.
  • Work with BIM models.
  • Test and approve mechanical designs.
  • Maintain and convert existing 2D/3D CAD drawings.
  • Some international travel is expected.

Qualifications:

We are looking for an Engineer who demonstrates positive attitude with passion for growth and can-do approach to obstacles and commitments and can work independently on the projects. You have the knowledge and experience with 3D CAD, plastic part design and industrialization.

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical design, product design or similar field.
  • Experience in relevant field.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, experience with CREO or Inventor is a bonus.
  • Proficiency in English (we use English in written documentation), Norwegian is an advantage.
  • Analytical skills and technical mindset.
