Overview of the role:

The Marketing Insights Analyst will support in the delivery of insight on marketing activities to prospects and customers.

The successful candidate will be adept at data management and analysis. Comfortable with large datasets and ambiguous questions, playing a key role in delivering insight on all performance and brand Marketing activities including Affiliates, Search, Sponsorship, Content, Social, Television, Press, Radio, and Digital activities.

The scope of the role covers Betfair’s International markets within key European and LatAm regions; Brazil, Spain, and Italy being our key regions currently.

This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. These discussions are between you and your manager to find the best pattern for you both, while recognising that quality time together is essential for keeping us mission-aligned.

Our recently renovated Dublin office is the perfect place for team collaboration and individual growth. It hosts 2 cafes, a games' room, gym and an abundance of meeting rooms catered for groups of all sizes. We also run regular social and well-being initiatives, from annual sports days to weekly nail technicians on-site.

What you’ll do:

The role requires a highly motivated individual with a strong analytical abilities to quickly understand our marketing channels, then operationalise the reporting tools and capabilities needed to support effective investment decisions within them.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the formulating, distilling, & communicating insights around Brand & performance marketing activities. (In particular TV, print, radio, & digital marketing)
  • Ad hoc support for relevant collaborators with marketing data & insights, including data auditing, sense checking, developing new analysis and data visualisations
  • Assist in writing custom SQL for reports that require data structures not supported by current reporting tools.
  • Work with agency partners to ensure that standard methodology is followed with regards data, analysis, and reporting
  • Work with Marketing colleagues to streamline capabilities in terms of analysis & reporting
  • Supervise relevant critical metrics and the impacts on them from various media campaigns
  • Ensuring that comprehensive & clear documentation is maintained
  • Address ad hoc questions in a timely manner from colleagues in Marketing / Finance / Commercial / Product
  • Reporting on a diverse range of channels and associated metrics, to include media spend and delivery, brand performance metrics, commercial KPIs, customer insight, PR value, social & content engagement, etc.
  • Contributing data-driven customer insights to our media planning process, ensuring delivery of high-quality briefs that enable us to buy media against our target audience with accuracy, on a local market basis

What you’ll bring:

We are looking for an analyst with experience in a data driven environment delivering insight and/or reporting. You will have established presentation skills that enable insight to be taken from complex data sets or concepts. You’ll have the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly. You are able to show excellent organisational and time management skills. Ideally you have knowledge of Sports betting, Exchange, Gaming or Social gaming business.

Knowledge of marking concepts and media capabilities is also desirable. Learns quickly when facing new situations and experiments to find new solutions. Takes on the challenge of unfamiliar tasks and extracts lessons learned from failures or mistakes.

Education, Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in a data driven environment delivering insight and/or reporting
  • Degree or equivalent experience qualification in a quantitative (STEM) field
  • Experience working with Big Data is desirable
  • Experience working with data analysis applications (e.g. R, Python, SAS etc) is desirable
  • Proven experience in an analytical role with at least:
  • 1+ years’ experience with SQL/Oracle
  • 1+ years’ experience with Excel and PowerPoint
  • 1+ years’ experience with Tableau or Looker (or equivalent data viz tool)
