Senior Environmental Consultant (Mid-Senior Level)

Environmental Resources Management (ERM)

This is a significant opportunity for Principal‐level professionals looking to further their careers as part of a global environmental leader.

ERM is seeking experienced and enthusiastic professionals in Environmental Impact Assessment Planning for our office in Bangkok, Thailand. The primary goal of the role is being the team leader leading and developing to grow the business for ERM. This will be achieved through leading the team by focusing on client account development, sales and the delivery of the full spectrum of ERM’s consulting services to provide strategic value to our clients.

Responsibilities will include day to day management of team, leading on projects and proposals, building and maintaining client relationships and supporting the career development of staff.

The successful candidate will:

  • Play a key role in growing the ERM brand and our broad portfolio of service offerings Thailand.
  • Actively develop commercial strategies to pursue and win new business opportunities that result in significant revenue growth with target clients aligned with ERM’s global strategy;
  • Develop new client relationships and expand existing relationships by delivering strategic consulting advice, excellent value, and quality service;
  • Build, grow, and manage a high‐performance team, serving as a leader and mentor to more junior consultants, identify emerging talent and work with them to reach their full potential; ensure rising stars are nurtured, developed and given new areas of responsibility;
  • Maintain pulse on industry business cycles and prioritize sales efforts toward high‐potential, top opportunities;
  • Support the growth and development of ERM’s global Planning practice and actively collaborate with colleagues across the globe; and,
  • Drive innovation within the practice to stay ahead of client needs and to differentiate ERM in the market.
  • Provide thought-leadership and influence to shape and drive the direction and performance of the business;
  • Work with the Country Managing Partners, other partners and managers to assess and maintain focus on Practice and strategy;
  • Work with Partners and team managers to ensure technical and professional development of staff, refine recruiting strategies associated with current client needs and opportunities, as well as determining potential growth and strategic hires associated with market needs/ trends;
  • Have direct leadership responsibility for the a team including sales, staff management, resource management and the technical, financial and health and safety performance of the team;
  • Maintain, develop and leverage strong client relationships and build a strong practice infrastructure and community that enables identification, award and delivery of projects across our market sectors;
  • Engage with sector and practice counterparts globally within ERM and take an active role in key global and Asia-Pacific regional initiatives and leadership activities.
  • Increase the recognition, visibility and reputation of the ERM brand among targeted clients and competitors including undertaking a client facing lead roles

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS or higher academic qualification in environmental science, engineering or related discipline.
  • 10 years relevant work experience, ideally in undertaking impact assessments for oil & gas, power, chemical and infrastructure developments in Thailand and or the Asia Pacific region.
  • Excellent understanding of environmental impact assessment procedures and requirements in Thailand or Asia Pacific region.
  • Ability to undertake complex and interdisciplinary technical work.
  • Strong Commercial & Financial Acumen
  • Proven experience in Mentoring, Coaching & Leading environmental teams
  • Strong Sales & Business Development Capability
  • Strong project management skills in impact assessment studies.
  • Demonstrated aptitude to client/relationship management.
  • Commitment to relationship building both with client and within the Company.
