Job Purpose

As a part of the Enterprise Data and Analytics organization, the Data Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing the overall architecture of the data and analytics solutions within the organization. The role will involve understanding business requirements, collaborating with stakeholders, and developing scalable and efficient BI systems. The Architect plays a crucial role in ensuring that the BI infrastructure meets the current and future needs of the organization.

The Architect will work with Engineers to develop data models to meet the needs of the organization's data systems. This role will manage and support the flow of information between analytics solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Data & Analytics’ ETL and reporting platforms to ensure data is ready for consumption. Duties include supporting the business process areas for LP’s Master Data Governance, Business Intelligence, interfaces to/from SAP and Snowflake, and other automation tools, as needed. The Architect will work with internal and external resources for requirements gathering, oversight of development/delivery of requested changes, testing & documentation, and the ongoing support in the production environment. This role will also work with LP’s service providers to manage delivery of changes, where appropriate.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Design end-to-end business intelligence and analytics architecture, considering scalability, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Develop data models that support the integration and analysis of structured and unstructured data.
  • Ensure that data models align with business objectives and adhere to best practices.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate BI tools based on business needs and technical requirements.
  • Integrate BI tools seamlessly into the existing technology landscape.
  • Design and implement robust ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for efficient data integration.
  • Ensure data consistency and accuracy across different systems and sources.
  • Identify and implement performance optimization techniques to enhance the speed and efficiency of BI systems.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address any bottlenecks.
  • Implement security measures to protect sensitive business data.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand their reporting and analytics needs.
  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for BI architecture, data models, and ETL processes.
  • Provide training and support to BI developers and users.

What do I need to be successful?

  • Proven experience as a BI Architect or similar role, with a strong background in designing and implementing BI solutions.
  • 10+ years of experience working with data in the data and analytics space
  • In-depth knowledge of BI tools, data modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python).
  • Experience with cloud-based BI solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Extensive experience on BW 7.5 on HANA2.0 or similar versions.
  • Experience with governance, controls, process and procedures, conceptual data modeling, master data management, data standardization and stewardship, information integrity and compliance, and data quality management
  • Experience with integration into reporting platforms, like Tableau, Power BI, SAP BI.
  • Knowledge of Model Conversion - Data Flows-Multi Providers to Composite Providers,
  • Strong knowledge and experience of SQL

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software or computer engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

Work Environment

  • This position will work at home and in our Nashville office on a hybrid schedule
  • Must be within a commutable distance to Nashville or willing to relocate to the greater Nashville area
