Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Lead monthly closing process with strict timelines and managing all aspects of financial reporting including preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, analysis, and disclosures as well as supporting internal management reporting needs.
  • Help ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Oversee coordination of annual audit and proactively address non-standard or technical accounting issues with auditors to ensure timely resolution.
  • Identify, research, and document the Company's technical accounting matters and provide operational accounting support for complex areas such as equity, leases, foreign transactions.

Revenue Recognition:

  • Review customer contracts and transactions to ensure proper revenue recognition treatment in accordance with relevant accounting literature and the Company’s revenue recognition policy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, RevOps, Legal, and Finance, to ensure alignment on revenue recognition policies and practices.
  • Prepare revenue recognition assessment for non-standard agreements including, material right, modification, SSP allocation, etc. as well as a summary of the non-standard terms of arrangement along with the revenue recognition implications per ASC 606 guidance for internal management and audit purposes
  • Oversee billing and collections processes and systems to ensure timely and accurate invoicing and collections.

General Ledger Management:

  • Oversee the general ledger accounting processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
  • Review and analyze accounting transactions to ensure proper classification and treatment in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.

Financial Analysis:

  • Assist in financial analysis activities, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis to support decision-making.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering relevant financial data and assisting in the preparation of budget models and forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and report on variances to management.

Tax and Compliance:

  • Manage corporate governance and compliance activities, including maintaining corporate records, filings, and registrations.
  • Assist in tax compliance activities, including the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, Sales and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors and authorities on tax-related matters.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting and financial reporting processes.
  • Implement changes to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance controls.
  • Partner cross functionally with Finance, Legal, and other Accounting teams to drive continuous improvements in business analysis, systems, processes and controls.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment within the accounting team.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting.
  • CPA license required with 10+ years of accounting / financial reporting experience; 3+ of those years in public accounting.
  • Expertise in US GAAP with an ability to research and interpret technical accounting guidance.
  • Global experience preferred.
  • SaaS Company Experience required, Cyber-Security Company preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to partner cross functionally beyond finance and accounting.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
  • This position is a hybrid role based at our Redwood City, CA location. Applicants must be willing to work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday on-site.

Compensation Transparency

$200,000 - $220,000 USD

Please note that the annual base salary range is a guideline and, for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location, as well as, knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for benefits, and may be eligible for incentive compensation and/or equity.
