The Sr. Director, Data Analytics Solutions Sales Lead is a global role designed to lead the go-to-market sales efforts and campaigns related to CME Group’s Analytics Solutions. In this role, he/she will be deeply involved in the early stages of working with the Analytics Solutions Product team in building a robust suite of cloud-based analytics solutions designed to solve the ever evolving needs of CME clients in front, middle, and back office environments. Further, he/she will work closely with the Analytics Solutions Product team to drive sales and revenue growth by identifying client targets, leading client validation, maintaining key client relationships, and providing insights including product positioning. He/she will work closely with clients to inform them of how they can improve decision making, realize efficiencies, and derive deeper insights into CME Group markets through the use of CME Group’s pre- and post-trade analytic offerings. With an eye toward enhancing customer value, he/she will be expected to have deep engagement with customers to truly understand the demand and need for new and innovative analytic products and services which will be used by product teams as they evolve their portfolio of data offerings.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Drive and achieve quarterly sales targets for Data Analytics solutions.
  • Build relationships with new and existing clients with a goal to identify new opportunities and position analytics solutions with clients.
  • Help develop and execute sales strategies that capture market share from competitors and accelerate growth in green fields.
  • Manage client relationships, build a portfolio of long-term client relationships/accounts, and own the opportunity management cycle for analytics sales.
  • Collaborate with all delivery stakeholders involved to ensure fulfilment of all commitments to the client.
  • Create account plans including relationships mapped, opportunities to be pursued in Data analytics.
  • Own numbers/sales targets and calibrate the business accurately forecasting and reporting for analytics sales.
  • Build and maintain executive relationships with clients, influencing long-term strategic direction for data and analytics.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans, including a broader enterprise plan across key industries.
  • Work with the Analytics Solutions product team and product marketing teams to continuously develop and drive an analytics pipeline.
  • Share market & competitive information with key stakeholders to enable data and analytics offerings enhancement on a regular basis.

Required Experience:

  • At least 10/15+ years of professional experience in a similar data and analytics role in capital markets driving sales
  • Deep experience working with quantitative analysts and a clear understanding of their challenges and needs.
  • A proven ability to provide analysis and opinion on the competitive landscape including insights into threats, opportunities, and trends in regions
  • Experience working closely with external customers to understand their needs while developing various products and services to meet their needs. This is a client-facing role which requires sophisticated interactive and communicative abilities. Outstanding presentation skills (including demos) are a must, as is the ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills.

  • Highest standards of ethics and personal integrity.
  • Must be able to successfully partner with internal and external stakeholders across departments and at various management levels.

Preferred Experience:

  • Understanding of derivatives markets (futures and options)
  • Familiarity with options strategies and options volatility
  • Experience with analytics solutions/financial data products sales
  • Broad understanding of the FinTech and data company landscape
  • Strong network of senior level (CTO, CEO, COO, Chief Product Officer) contacts in data product, content and delivery technology companies

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree. Advanced degree (MBA, CFA) preferred.

The salary range for this role is $162,600-$271,000. Actual salary offered will be dependent on a wide array of factors including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills, education and comparison to internal employees (where relevant).
