WinnCompanies is looking for a The IT Helpdesk Technician to join our corporate headquarters located in Boston, MA.

In this role, you will ensure proper computer operation so end users may accomplish business tasks in a timely manner by providing in-person and/or remote support. The IT Helpdesk Technician is responsible for triaging, troubleshooting documentation, and problem resolution for end user reported issues at various levels within the company. This role is an in-person role, primarily supporting corporate end users.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier I and Tier II technical support to internal team members
  • Act as an escalation point for requests not handled by first-level helpdesk support.
  • Provide timely communication on issue status and resolution.
  • Track and record the entire incident process including the initial reason for providing support, all troubleshooting steps taken, and final resolution actions taken.
  • Manage ticket queue for triaging and dispatching tickets.
  • Use remote connectivity tools and diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
  • Assist in software releases/rollouts according to department best practices.
  • Research solutions using internal knowledge base and external knowledge sources.
  • Perform in-person support when remote tools are not appropriate.
  • Use internal tools for management of core IT services including Active Directory and Exchange Online.
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance activities when required.
  • Assist in knowledge/documentation improvement processes.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 year experience in IT troubleshooting support role.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks.
  • Proficient experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues in-person and remotely.
  • Proficient with Windows 10 and the latest Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proficient in basic administrative tasks in Active Directory.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Working technical knowledge of current software protocols, and Internet standards, including DHCP, DNS, LAN/WAN, HTTPS, SFTP.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Industry certification including CompTIA A+, Network+.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Experience with basic administrative tasks in Office 365.
