As an Internal Audit Manager you will manage internal audit risk-based and advisory projects based on the annual audit plan. You will provide oversight and direction to staff members and review internal audit reports outlining observations and recommendations. You will work cross-functionally to align on remediation plans to improve the control environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Participates in or directs projects involving winery departments and affiliated operating businesses to identify opportunities to improve existing processes.
  • Works independently with key stakeholders on audits, process improvement projects and internal and business control projects at all levels of winery management.
  • Manages the execution of audit procedures agreed upon with external auditors.
  • Oversees the testing and reporting of SOX controls in a timely manner.
  • Maintains awareness and knowledge of Gallo policies and procedures, industry and professional technical guidance and emerging issues and applies them as needed.
  • Directs staff members in audit projects, reviews and/or formulates audit programs, oversees timely execution of test procedures, and ensures quality documentation standards are met.
  • Manages multiple audit projects at once.
  • Participates in recruiting activities of staff members.
  • Participates in the oversight of department policy, goals, and procedures.
  • Implements department's vision and strategy, through strong leadership skills.
  • Develops or reviews recommendations to promote a better control environment, agree on action plans with process owners, and ensures timely and accurate implementation.
  • Participates in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams and works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.
  • Participates in determining and prioritizing audit engagements and determining resource needs and scheduling.
  • Assesses staff capabilities needed to accomplish objectives.
  • Ensures employee conformance to established best practices and proper training of staff.
  • Monitors and ensures achievement of performance goals and objectives either directly or through subordinate staff.
  • Balances planning efforts with day-to-day demands.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

What You Will Need:

  • MBA degree plus 4 years of finance or accounting, audit, military, operations, supply chain, sales, consulting or wine industry experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of audit, accounting, finance, economics, statistics, or mathematics experience to include ensuring the integrity of financial statements during internal and external audit, improving and testing of internal controls, analyzing financial statements, and recommending operational efficiency reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of Gallo experience to include 2 years of finance, audit, accounting, economics, statistics or mathematics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of public audit or accounting experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of the IIA's International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and internal control frameworks.
  • Experience in auditing practices, including preparing audit programs, reviewing testing documentation, and drafting audit reports.
  • Leadership experience to include coaching and developing others or managing complex or cross-functional projects.
  • Required to travel up to 10% of the time in order to conduct job duties.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Professional certifications in one or more of the following: CPA, CISA, CIA, or CMA.
  • Supervisory or managerial experience
  • Experience in effectively presenting information to diverse levels of management, public groups, and boards of directors.
  • Knowledge of IT controls.
  • Application of data analytics to identify risk, improve business performance and controls.
  • Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, and flowcharting tools and techniques.
  • Experience working with all levels and functions within the Company.
  • Experience working effectively individually or in a team environment and leading by example.
  • Experience leading the resolution of business issues in a team environment.
  • Strong executive presence.
  • Experience working on projects that have strategic impact and improve the process efficiency of the company.
  • Effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills, including the effective summarization of audit/project results to management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships and establish trust.
  • Effective organizational and administrative skills.
  • Knows and applies facilitation skills and techniques.
  • Experience simultaneously working on and completing multiple assignments in a timely manner.

  • Experience engaging in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and controlling.
  • Knows value added audit and business improvement methodologies and techniques.
  • Experience completing assignments that are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity. Has appreciable latitude for unreviewed action or decision.

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $115,900 - $173,900 Plus 10% annual performance bonus
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
