The Strategic Account Manager, Sales Team is responsible for:

Account Strategic Programs Management

Develops mature strategies to execute plans for the assigned customer to ensure Microsoft and partner sales goals are on target, create high value revenue generating opportunities, and establish long term customer success and continued interaction.

Orchestrates the execution of strategies for the assigned accounts to ensure engagements yield high-volume sales, drive plans to increase revenue potential, and open new opportunities for both Microsoft and the partners, aligned to goals, budgets, and forecasts.

Relationship management with government program management operations and senior level stakeholders – geared towards adoption.

Drive program strategy and growth objectives – actively support and partner with Account Executives to create, capture, and win task orders.

Provide prime contracting expertise to influence and guide business development and proposal activities.

Represent contract and customer requirements in internal discussions with product groups, engineering, and other stakeholders with the ability to impact contract delivery.

Internal communications to keep stakeholder organizations informed about opportunity developments.

Collaborate with other partners to consolidate priorities and messaging to government leadership.

Community outreach to represent Microsoft in conferences and events.

Ability to develop complex sales strategies that clearly define goals, strategies/tactics and metrics for measuring success. Must be able to sell at a strategic level in the territory and be able to develop strategies to move forward and close partner led program of record opportunities. Ability to understand a customer's business issue and work with the virtual team to architect a buying vision around Microsoft solutions that solve business issues. Operational excellence in managing a pipeline of strategic opportunities, opportunity reviews with senior management. Manage all aspects of the relationship between the customer, Microsoft, and industry partners with respect to strategic opportunities.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 13+ years experience in working in an industry (e.g., Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Energy, Government, Education, Technology) and/or driving digital transformation

o OR Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience working in an industry (e.g., Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Energy, Government, Education, Technology) and/or driving digital transformation

o OR Master's Degree AND 9+ years experience working in an industry (e.g., Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Energy, Government, Education, Technology) and/or driving digital transformation.

  • 8+ years experience making recommendations to and/or collaborating with mid-to-senior level executives.
  • 8+ years experience closing large, complex agreements/deals.

Other Qualifications:

Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations or Export Administration Regulations, the EU Dual Use Regulation, and/or other export control regulations. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency, or other protected status (e.g., under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport. Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Strategic Account Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $122,400 - $216,500 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $166,100 - $235,000 per year.
