DESCRIPTION

Do you want to build new products from the ground up using the latest technology and AWS offerings? Do you want to work with the largest datasets on Amazon? We are building new insights products to identify the best advertising strategies on Amazon Ads. As a data engineer on the Marketing Insights team, you will work with a collaborative and entrepreneurial team and will invent on behalf of our customers.

We are seeking a strong Data Engineer to join the team. If you are passionate about buildings scalable analytical and data science solutions, relentless in ensuring data quality and reliability, and feel comfortable communicating at different levels of leadership, you are the candidate we are looking for!

This role requires deep expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of large datasets, across a variety of data platforms. You will have excellent business and interpersonal skills, and are able to work with business owners to translate user requirements to inform the data engineering aspects of solution development. You are an expert in crafting, implementing, and operating stable, scalable, and efficient solutions to flow data from production systems and data lakes. Above all, you are passionate about working with huge data sets and love to bring datasets together to build solutions that answer business questions.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will envision, design and develop data science solutions that scale the development and production of insights. You will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable data/ETL pipelines leveraging big data technologies and modern BI products. You will help org move towards insights as a service model to improve influence on day-to-day business decisions. You will influence and guide other engineers, tech team members and leaders to make informed data decisions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with SQL

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
  • Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
