Location
The Part-Time Summer Instructors will be apart of the Thomaston Educational Talent Search Program, which will be serving in Thomaston, Georgia.
Department Information
The Instructors are scheduled to work Part-time Hours 20 hours per week non-exempt positions, and report to the Director of the Educational Talent Search Program.
The Applicant must be able to understand & work with a mix of multi-cultural students and contribute tot he mission of TRIO Programs in an effort to promote future Student Success.
Job Summary
The Summer Enrichment Program will be held at an Upson-Lee School in Thomaston, Georgia, approximately 75 miles from Atlanta Metropolitan State College.
Responsibilities
Math Instructor -
- Provide instruction in mathematics topics.
- Demonstrate mathematical concepts using models, overhead projector, and other standard or teacher-prepared instructional aides that support students
- Strengths, group interaction, and real-world application.
- Design and implement a course syllabus that effectively outlines daily concepts covered, in class & home assignments, quizzes, group work, projects, and post-assessment.
- Create a culminating project that requires each student to present a concept discussed in the course (Oral/Visual presentation).
- Establish classroom management policies and procedures needed to maintain a productive and positive classroom environment.
- Work with Educational Talent Search staff to integrate special subject lessons and activities with the core academic curriculum.
- Participate in Educational Talent Search teacher staff meetings.
- Attend teacher orientation/planning session(s), program activities, & final teacher evaluation closing session.
- Perform other related duties as needed.

Required Qualifications
Applicants for this position must have a Bachelor's Degree in a related subject area.
Proposed Salary
Instructors will work for three weeks, Monday through Friday, up to 20 hours a week. Each stipend is up to $3,000.00 for three weeks.
