Position Description

Job Summary

Reporting to the VP of Corporate Marketing, the Director, Integrated Marketing is responsible for working collaboratively to build and execute integrated marketing plans and an overall customer experience that achieves top-line and bottom-line growth objectives along with market share, brand awareness and target segment penetration.

The Director will oversee a team with responsibility for executing across CertainTeed centralized channels—including digital, social media, email, PR, and traditional—in service of product and brand marketing, inclusive of all CertainTeed BUs, CertainTeed brand, and Strategic Business Development acquisitions and growth businesses. The Director, Integrated Marketing also oversees creative production, managing and leading creative production via writing, graphic design, multimedia, and video production to high standards of creative output and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative marketing leader that possesses the attributes of a great storyteller, strong performance marketer, and talented creative combined with a strong drive for results and passion for client service.

Required Qualifications

  • Oversee all integrated marketing planning and execution, deploying successful campaigns and always-on marketing for BUs, CertainTeed brand priorities, and SBD growth businesses.
  • Build and deploy a plan for continuous testing and organic optimization of all marketing activities across all channels, inclusive of email, automation, paid search, display, SEO, PR, traditional and trade media, and web.
  • Oversee overarching media mix across online and offline channels, recommending and deploying ideal mix to achieve business objectives, and measuring and tracking performance.
  • Oversee performance marketing, with expertise in design and deployment of strategic plans across performance marketing channels.
  • Partner closely with BUs and SBD marketing to build strategic marketing plans, and harmonizes and creates shared models, timing, and efficiencies across all plans. Responsible for ensuring all integrated marketing supports brand priorities, and reinforces leadership in sustainability, service, solutions, and systems.
  • Have direct oversight over creative production of written, graphic design, video and multimedia, delivering highly creative and effective creative with paramount attention to efficient and timely SLAs.
  • Hold ultimate responsibility and accountability for visual identity maintenance and application, messaging development and multi-channel distribution.
  • Develop a framework for measurement of integrated marketing that translates to marketing effectiveness and business objectives, and continually communicates effectiveness via regular reporting and dashboards.
  • Oversee content strategy and production, ensuring a robust and flexible content strategy that supports brand and product priorities, and positions CertainTeed as the leader in sustainability, service, solutions, and systems.
  • Cultivate and manage key creative agency partners, as needed, to augment internal resources. Ensures agency work is used only as necessary and with efficiency, looking to internal team first for delivery of creative and campaign work.

Additional Description

The right candidate will have a strong, proven history of overseeing both performance marketing and creative teams, with working knowledge in all aspects of the channels and mediums, yet leadership to set direction and manage people toward strong delivery of results. They will wear many hats, and wear them well, and as such must both have experience and a mindset of continual growth and learning.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or similar field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing management with demonstrated success in designing and implementing comprehensive integrated communications strategies and plans for large organizations. Experience in the building products or durables preferred.
  • Strong and effective supervisory experience; demonstrated experience as a manager of staff with at a least five years’ leadership experience, including the ability to motivate and nurture people, lead teams through change, measure and manage performance, and develop processes and policies designed to optimize team effectiveness and productivity.
  • Demonstrated success developing and working with performance marketing, with significant expertise in digital, social, web-based, and new media tools, including marketing automation. Extensive knowledge of the design and content development processes and agency/partner management. History of using integrated tools to make gains in efficiency/share/brand awareness.
  • Exceptional verbal and written presentation skills including ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple manner
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with B2B and B2C businesses, including retail
  • Able to collaborate effectively using broad range of influence styles to drive desired results; works well with others and is considered a true team player who works to promote the overall organization. Approaches conflicts as opportunities; understands others quickly; can find common ground without comprising total position
  • A self-starter with a sense of urgency, a strong work ethic, commitment to driving results, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a highly collaborative environment; must have a creative approach to problem solving, and the ability to take advantage of emerging opportunities while galvanizing broad support
  • Strong project and process management skills, including demonstrated ability to manage complex and long-range projects effectively, collaboratively, and on-time
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to support data-driven decisions and manage metrics-based marketing communications performance
