Who you are:

As the Senior Vice President, Capital Markets, you will work in partnership with the President, Capital Markets | Canada, to complete Colliers’ revenue and market share growth strategy.

The Senior Vice President, Capital Markets, will assist in sourcing, developing, and maintaining client relationships, as well as overseeing areas of valuation, financial analysis, and in the preparation of relevant material for pitches, proposals, Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs), and all other client presentations.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA or advanced degree in finance, economics, real estate or related field is an asset.
  • 8 - 10 years’ experience in a similar role, or demonstrated progressive experience within senior leadership roles
  • Commercial Real Estate Marketing experience is required.
  • Experience in Business Development – work closely with the President, Capital Markets | Canada, and Senior Leaders, to lead business development and client relationship management, maintain and expand client base and identify new business opportunities.
  • Team Leadership – provide management and leadership to junior members of the Capital Markets team in the preparation and completion of proposals, presentations, CIMs and all other ad hoc projects.
  • A strong work ethic, lleadership, strategic thinking, enterprising in nature and exceptional communication skills. 
  • Advanced experience with Argus Enterprise, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills; strong ability to think through range of possibilities and scenarios.
  • Resourceful, hands-on; comfortable wearing multiple hats; a “doer”, always willing to pitch in and get the job done; strong information seeking skills and drives to make things happen.
  • Extremely strong leader with a firm grasp and understanding of the business needs, client needs and cultural and financial realities of the organization and the marketplace.

Bonus skills and experience: 

  • A valid Mortgage Broker license in Ontario or Quebec is considered an asset.
  • Relationships with Investors including REITs, Public Corporations, Pension Funds, and other large Institutional entities.

What success looks like:

  • You will provide effective team and project management duties, including overseeing project completion timelines, and ensuring client needs are met.
  • You will Identify bottlenecks and establish controls to improve the underwriting process with the objective of maximizing team performance.
  • You will provide mentorship to the underwriting team in support of overall growth and productivity of Capital Markets.
  • You will play a lead role in the preparation of proposals, pitches and CIMs; conducts, organizes, delegates, and supplies relevant qualitative and quantitative analyses in presentation form.
  • You will develop strategies for pitches; may be involved in presenting pitches to existing and potential clients.
  • You are confident in your ability for gathering market knowledge and comparable data to ensure the valuation is accurate.
  • You will be responsible for overseeing analysts and Colliers Brokerage BOSSs to ensure accuracy and completeness of projects and deadlines are met.
