As a Contracts & Supplier Claim Management Specialist you will be a part of our Indian operation center. The unit is a part of the global Business unit Grid Automation in Hitachi Energy which delivers to our Utility and Industrial customers a comprehensive range of automation products and solutions to improve grid reliability and efficiency and enable complete grid control of all power distribution networks, from the most basic to advanced, including renewable power integration and battery storage systems.

Your responsibilities

  • As a Supplier Claim & Contract Management Specialist , you will work in close collaboration with our Supply Chain, Operations and Project management teams across the Global units for Contract Management and Supplier Claims.
  • Secure Supplier contracts back-to-back with the Customer contracts points.
  • Prepare and finalize the checklist for the Contract points to be incorporated.
  • Based on the Inputs from Project managers, work on the supplier claim formalities.
  • Manage the Supplier claim management process through the SNCRP tool.
  • Liaison with the supplier contact point for the resolution and documentation process.
  • Prepare the Supplier claim amount, as per the Contract/ PO terms. Discuss with respective supply managers and take forth with supplier.
  • Coordinate with Supplier for the 8D steps and closure to the Incidence recorded.
  • Setup periodic meetings with the OU to identify, Record and run the process.
  • You are responsible to keep track of the claims registered and work closely with stake holders and Supplier.
  • Supplier claim amount will the sole KPI along with diplomatically handling the claim management process.
  • Report on a monthly basis the claims registered and status for the units across the globe.
  • You will support the Supply Managers in framing the contract points for the critical orders.
  • You will ensure aligning the supplier to the SNCRP process.
  • You will support project execution team in resolving supplier claims challenges.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement projects in SCM perspective adding value to the business.
  • Proactively support the Cross functional teams in the projects.
  • Align the business actions towards the Supplier Claim Process.
  • You will be involved in projects of varying size and scope, geographically spread across the globe. Our customers perform their businesses in various fields, which means that the technology used also varies.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electrical, Mechanical with minimum 8 years of experience in relevant field.
  • Sound knowledge of project supply chain execution.
  • Good knowledge in the 8D process.
  • Excellent Technical, Contractual and Commercial understanding.
  • Experience with working in an international environment across time zones.
  • Analytical metrics-oriented, high motivation. Must be a collaborative team player, willing to take ownership of decisions.
  • Should be a self-starter.
  • Ability to communicate well and professionally with internal and external clients.
  • Works independently, applying established standards and instructs or coaches others in Contract, Claim matters.
