The Role in Brief:

Research Advisory Services Delivery Operations Manager

As a member of the EAB Research Advisory Services team, this position will be responsible for planning and project managing ‘signature service’ delivery operations & cohort-style events for EAB Research partners. Signature services are our highest profile, high-impact services reserved for our most comprehensive partners. This manager role is a keen project manager and communicator, who is skilled at managing details on concurrent projects, keeping colleagues accountable to agreed-upon deadlines and informed of project status, and ensuring a seamless and positive experience for all partner participants. The most common type of cohort-style event is our collaboratives. EAB’s collaboratives guide a steady group of peers through a cohort experience as they individually address a focused challenge or opportunity with the support of EAB best practices, tools, and expert advice. Collaboratives are interactive, virtual, multi-month engagements that result in tangible work accomplished on campus.

This position is based in Washington, DC.

Primary Responsibilities:

Cohort-style Events

  • Schedules cohort-style events and services in partnership with the events team and content experts
  • Oversees execution of internal project plans for each cohort, soliciting input from key stakeholders at critical junctures and updating project plans over time to track completion or make changes
  • Creates written documentation that enables team members to promote the cohort events with partners and have visibility into recruitment progress. This includes maintaining internal wiki pages, submitting updates for external web pages, and maintaining partner-facing materials that describe and promote these engagements.
  • Recommends and implements process improvements to increase administrative efficiency for internal staff, experience quality, and/or value for partners
  • Processes and tracks registrations for collaborative participants, including waitlist management and tracking down outstanding information required for participation
  • Sends recurring communications to internal stakeholders that keep them apprised of recruitment windows opening and closing, and offers transparency into partner registration status
  • Sets project deadlines and upward manages colleagues to meet them
  • Collects and shares feedback from internal colleagues on cohort event operations and recruitment to help iterate and improve on an ongoing basis
  • Collects and shares feedback from participants that helps to improve partner experience over time and/or maintain communication with absentee participants
  • Sends follow-up communications and materials to cohort participants at appropriate intervals throughout cohort experience
  • Examples of current cohort-style events include:
  • Rising Higher Education Leaders Fellowship
  • Enterprise Data Management Collaborative
  • Student Mental Health and Well-Being Collaborative
  • Financial Performance Collaborative
  • IT Leadership Institute 

Other Signature Services

  • Manages the delivery operations for additional signature services, helping to build and deploy efficient processes internally related to process management, communication, and recruitment; and externally to optimize the partner experience
  • Creates and manages project plans to ensure timely deployment of services, including setting project deadlines and upward manages colleagues to meet them
  • Owns communications with internal colleagues and partners related to signature services
  • Processes, tracks and reports on utilization of these services
  • Sends recurring communications to internal stakeholders that keep them apprised of critical information
  • Supports operations of signature services, for example, EAB Voice Session set-up and scheduling, deployment, technical troubleshooting, data and transcript collection, and technical support during partner facilitations
  • Examples of additional signature services include:
  • EAB Voice Sessions (online, anonymous, feedback forums)
  • 360 Listening Tours (live interview approach with partners and their staff to help them address challenges)
  • Institutional Strategy Indexes (ie. ISI for DEIJ, Admin Efficiency Index)
  • Develops and leads delivery operations for additional signature services as they are developed

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with an excellent academic record
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience
  • Comfort with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability and willingness to get up to speed quickly on basic functionality of technical platforms
  • Experience with at least two of the following:
  • Project management, including creating project plans and meeting deadlines
  • Collaborating with team members and department leaders to achieve short- and long-term goals
  • Analytical thinking skills ability to manage multiple, competing projects and priorities 

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience with solution-focused problem solving and prioritization
  • Proven ability to upward manage executive-level colleagues
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, in both oral and written formats
  • Proven ability to accomplish tasks and activities efficiently and prioritize according to importance
  • Proven ability to take initiative on process improvement
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and departments with different and sometimes competing priorities.
  • Basic technical competence
  • Familiarity with Salesforce

Compensation:

The anticipated starting salary (base) range for this role is $52,500 - $57,500 per year. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include but not be limited to relevant experience, skills, and location. At EAB, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the starting salary range for their role.

This hire will additionally be eligible for discretionary bonus. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, such as individual and organizational performance.
