Become a Business Operations Analyst, Senior Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will work within the Performance Management & Strategic Initiatives group of Transmission & Distribution (T&D’s) Grid Operations, Operational Strategy, Reliability and Performance Management (OSRPM) team. This team is primarily responsible for enabling operational improvements and performance management across Grid Operations. The Business Operations Senior Specialist will have knowledge of extracting data from multiple sources, analyze and interpret data, and make recommendations for process improvements. Also, including, but not limited to performing in-depth analysis and providing consultative technical advice for on-going company operations or in response to shifting and emerging business strategies. Plus, support efforts preparing for and deploying large scale projects as assigned.

  • Gather and analyze data related to Grid Operations business functions to ensure that performance metrics, departmental goals, and organizational initiatives are achieved.
  • Participate in and contribute to various projects related to operations, infrastructure, and projects to enhance Grid Operations performance and improve processes and procedures.
  • Create business tools enabling efficiencies by streamlining manual processes through automation.
  • Partners with Advisors and Sr. Advisors on the deployment of operational analytics, tools, and processes that support Grid Operations pre-established corporate-level performance goals.
  • Support efforts in the implementation of safety, compliance, benchmarking, continuous improvement, and IT efforts.
  • Develop and assist with the creation and delivery of presentations to various levels of management, in support of Grid Operations strategies and goals.
  • Collaborate and work cross-functionally with all teams within Grid Operations, T&D, and various SCE organizational units.
  • Large scale project support as assigned (Grid Management System, Advanced Distribution Management System, and Distributed Energy Resource Management System).
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The essentials

  • Five or more years of experience analyzing and interpreting data.
  • One or more years of experience improving processes within project management. 
  • One or more years of experience developing and delivering presentations.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience developing automated reports, or other advanced tracking or reporting systems utilizing multiple data sources and modern interfaces such as Microsoft Power BI, SAS VA, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint and SQL.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Visio, and other Office applications.

You should know

This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
