The Technology Sourcing & Vendor Management Analyst role is pivotal in ensuring HEARST maximizes the benefits derived from our strategic alliances with technology partners and vendors. This opportunity offers engagement with diverse business stakeholders across industries such as media, healthcare, and finance.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Procurement: Identify, assess, and procure technology-related products and services vital to our organizational functions.

Perform comprehensive modeling: Assess project costs and benefits utilizing standard methodologies, including understanding historical price trends, total cost of ownership, should-cost modeling, Benchmarking and other to ensure the delivery of optimal value for our organization. 

Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with internal stakeholders to understand market dynamics, conduct negotiations, and uphold Hearst standards while ensuring cost-effectiveness.

Global Technology Negotiations: Run negotiations for comprehensive technology agreements spanning IT commodities like hardware, software, cloud, and managed services. Strive for cost savings, favorable payment terms, and added value from vendor agreements. 

Vendor Management Tools Oversight: Maintain the accuracy and efficiency of Vendor Management tools like Salesforce and SharePoint, crucial for negotiation and process management.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 
  • Proven experience (5 years) in technology procurement, vendor management, or strategic sourcing within the tech industry.
  • Knowledge of financial accounting, pricing, strategic sourcing, and vendor management concepts
  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical, communication, and presentation skills 
  • Deep understanding of IT products, services, and market trends.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with business partners and strategic vendors.
  • Strategic mindset and passion for efficiency, simplification, and outstanding results
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly in Excel to execute RFx modelling and financial models.
  • Technology-savvy to leverage eProcurement and eSourcing tools including but not limited to: Oracle, Spend Analysis tools, Salesforce.
  • Proficiency in contract management and evaluation methodologies.
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory aspects linked to procurement.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, and time-sensitive environment.
  • Familiarity with a variety of Technology vendor concepts, practices, and procedures. 

Reporting Structure: 

  • This role reports directly to the Senior Director of the Technology Sourcing & Vendor Management team.

Key relationships: 

  • Business Unit IT Senior Level Customers, HTS Leadership, Finance, Legal, Corporate Procurement, and Asset Management

In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York State. The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York State, is $90,000 - $110,000. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York State. If this role is open to candidates outside of New York State, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate’s starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education. Hearst provides a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, 401(k), paid holidays and paid time off, employee assistance programs, and more.
